True but 1/4 is just one aspect of performance. I love using them closed roads because it shows the real potential of the motor. I don't have to rely on my personal race experience as much as my car. Yeah, I love beating faster cars at the track because it's their first time out there and they don't know how to launch, but it's fun to test your car for what it's really worth.

The thing is at the track you get a timeslip that gives you an idea if it was really the car or the driver, no such thing with no true timing equipment, anywho, we hace totally ran off topic, time to get back on.....

Why even compare the SS to the SRT? The SRT should be compared to the Z and GT500. Just my .02.

Flame suit on.

Recently, my friend let me drive his SRT8 Charger, on a 150 mile trip to the Hamptons. Its a bruiser, but in all honesty, I'm not scared.

With the new engine and trasmission, I think they would be the first SRT's to match, if not exceed the Camaro SS's.

Anywho, back on topic. looks like only the SE and R/T will be getting the electric steering, they are keeping the hydraulic steering for the 6.4 SRT8. My guess it the 6.4 SRT will have a couple tenths on an LS3 in the 1/4 mile......
What gives? I have a Lambo Reventon with rocket boosters that can take to the air. You believe me, right?

Theres nothing wrong with asking for evidence, especially when the argument is not convincing.

i think a challenger rt running about even with an l99 is a bit more believable than you owning a lambo reventon have you not seen the commercial?

I have both an SS and SRT8 and I feel my SRT8 is a little faster...could be less torque management under 3k rpm though for the SRT8

MODS:
SRT8 = CAI, JBA Exhaust, 170° T-Stat, Predator Canned Tune (91 Oct)
SS = New Era Intake Pipe and JBA catted mid pipes

even without the Predator the SRT feels faster to me...Guess it depends on the driver

My mother owns an R/T. I know how they are like. (My family are Mopar people...I'm the only chevy guy ) It's hard to explain, but you can really "feel" the weight of the car. It's still an overall sweet car though, but just not the same feeling you get when your in the Camaro.

That was my reventon that they used in the video.

I understand I have had a lot of big heavy cars, the bigger, higher weight seems to make the acceleration deceptive, though the R/T I drove absolutely shot it's nose in the air and took off under wot at 60 MPH
