When I had a 1979 Trans Am (around 1998-2004) , I used to exchange waves with 3rd gen and older f-bodies. Not so much with 4th gen. I think it's a difference between owning a current gen car and an older gen.

Currently, you know if you see someone in a 1990 z28, or a 2003 WS6, that they are specifically into those cars, probably a gear head. Someone in a new Camaro might have just liked the look (nothing wrong with that).

People in sports/muscle cars used to acknowledge each other years and years ago. And that is because only certain people bought them. These days more and more non-enthusiasts are buying sports/muscle cars. So they don't have the sense of fellowship. They see you wave and they just don't get it. Half the time they don't even realize you're there. A real enthusiast will wave tho. So if someone doesn't, then its because they're not really an enthusiast...or maybe they had a really horrible day.

I agree alot of people i see driving camaros look like people who dont have such a passion or pride for these cars like we do. I always get excited when i see a camaro thats been atleast slightly modded because i know they like it enough to make it their own and stand out and appreciate the car and other camaros on the road therefore a wave to be made lol

I flash my headlights in acknowledgement. sometimes if we're going the same way, we'll size each other up and then the inevitable happens...

I always wave at any other Camaro, but very seldom get a return wave. I had the same experience with my Mazda Miata; I would wave to other Miatas and very seldom get a response. I always look at another Camaro when I see one and very seldom are the drivers looking at me (same as with the Miatas). I attribute it to the area where I live, SE NC near Wilmington. Not many car guys around here other than the hot rod types and they could care less about a sports car. Back in the 50's and 60's when i was driving MG's and Austin Healeys every sports car driver waved to any other sports car driver and most of the time got a response. But that was back in southern OH where there seems to be more car guys than around here. I also had similar non-response experiences when I lived in MD outside of DC. Sad!

I threw a piece sign at a 2013 I saw in my home town yesterday. No response back. I notice every Camaro I see. Guess some people are too good to wave. Its like when I ride my bike and pass another biker. I always give the bunny ears.

You guys are doing it wrong! Pull up next to a Camaro and give them the finger then punch it and make them chase you. If they catch up buy them lunch and talk about cars for the next hour.

Its how we create harmony in the world and bring balance to the force.

Size: 152.3 KBI have a Harley too and I always give the peace sign. They never look to wave back. I'm new to the Camaro life. But if someone waves at me I'm waving back. And if CamaroGirl waves at me I'm going to try to get her to pull over and talk to me. Lol I know I won't catch her... peace out

Heck, someone has to say it.

Nobody waived back at me last week. Totally unrelated, a slightly used 2012 ZL1 for sale, cheap. Make offer.

I try to wave but then they want to race and I just let them have their 15 seconds of feeling good.
