It really isn't a car for a lot of folks. All the niceties that were stripped out are stuff that 95% of people are willing to pay more for, that are tangible to them so they have value to them. BUT in reality its way cheaper for Ford to put in a Leather interior or navigation system than a Torsen diff, adjustable shocks, and Recaro seats. And the engineering behind getting it all to work right and be reliable on and off the track. Thats why it costs much more than a regular GT, and its not made for a lot of folks, its made for a few which is all they expect to sell to up the standard Mustang's profile. Its unfortunate GM doesn't have the money to throw behind such ventures.

There have been no tests of it yet, but with 28 more horses on tap, very aggressive engine programming (thanks to the Key there was so much debate about), reduced weight and better everything underneath, I am sure it would hand a regular GT its ass as well as the 1SS. Yes maybe it will 1/4 mile nearly the same, but in the grand scheme of things that absolutely NOT what this car is for.
Dunno who told you that, but since the C7 vette gets the gen V v8 in 2012, the new trucks get Gen V v8s in 2013 MY, why would they wait until 2015 for the camaro?? It seems to be for the 2013 My for the camaro aswell.

Cool, but a little pricey IMO, also I'm getting the feeling that pretty all these little upgrade will filter down to the GT anyways in futre model years, say 2013 MY

Either way, GM isn't there yet.

It was a base coupe without many options, much like the Boss.
And that is the least of the changes to the Boss. You make it sound like a sticker package when it is far from that. Aside from the fact that the engine is based on the same block/displacement with more horsepower and better programming theres a TON of suspension upgrades among other things, Very much like the Z06 vs a base vette.

BTW I am not a mustang guy whatsoever.

Yes and nothing has been confirmed that it would be going down in size or anything. Also from reading here they have indicated the car powertrain wise will remain largely the same until the next model update. So I would take that to mean that the next Gen v8 will be the same size, or they aren't going to replace it until the new platform is up in 2015.

easy there cowboy, the only person who mentioned the Z06 was...errr.... you. there is 25k between the base price of the base vette and the Z06, there is 10k between the base mustang and the 302. congratulations! you have the ability to point out the obvious!!!!! durr the z06 is the bigger improvement......

The boss 302s version of the 5.0 is about as similar to the base 5.0 as the ls6 was to the ls1.

Check this 2011 GT out. Just a set of Hoosier slicks. Everything else stock.

Again I have no Idea who said that, but everyone I heard is pointing to 2013 MY even those on Gminsidenews. Its all speculation, But no way the camaro won't get it until 2015 when the vette and trucks have it 2-3 years earlier, not too menchion the Gen Vs are supposedly more fuel efficient with shooting up CAFE standards right around the corner which I believe starts next year.
