Hmmm....I believe the webpage is titled "Featured Specs"....who's to say there's some stuff they've left out? After all, they've only just told us the tip of the iceberg at this point...

Hey, Viral......
Do you use a microwave oven to heat things up instead of an oven or stove top?
Do you email instead of hand writing letters?
Do you use direct deposit instead of waiting in line to cash a check?
Do you buy things online instead of going to a store?

If you say yes to any, is it considered being lazy? I think not.

I'm sorry but these are bad analogies IMO. For the most part, these are mundane tasks where the convenience and efficiency factor helps. Clearly the vast majority of those interested in the ZL1 are driving and automobile enthusiasts and are passionate about driving this performance vehicle (not saying prospective ZL1 auto tranny drivers are not passionate). Those that are not passionate and consider driving a chore or simple transportation would better apply to your analogies IMO.

A better analogy IMO from this persons pro manual tranny perspective is the following:

Would a chef use a microwave to cook his meal instead of an oven or stove top?

or how about this one (just poking fun at the pro auto guys, no offense intended):

Does warming up a Wolfgang Puck prepared meal in the microwave make you a chef?

If the microwave oven did a better job of cooking the food and it tasted better that way then yes a chef would. I wouldn't want a chef who chose to use the inferior product just because it provided him more entertainment value.

Touche. Point taken.

But since few of us are professional chefs (drivers), using a product that has more entertainment value is highly important IMO.

And if you don't like the quality of the meal I'm serving, get the hell out of my kitchen

You're about 2 days late with this argument, as dragoneye made the exact same points before, and you can look back at my rebuttal. I have no more comments on the topic.

I have to agree. A ZL1 with an auto tranny would definitely be more convenient and more advanced. But for a lot of us it wouldn't be as enjoyable. For me a manual is a lot more fun.

Ya, fuel injection and computer controlled timing, knock retard, and fuel curves also make things way too easy. I think the ZL1 should come with points and a 750 double pumper! Since we want a "real" muscle car. All the b.s. aside, if the technology is available, please make it AVAILABLE. I currently own an L99 with a maggie. It makes 500 rwhp, ofcourse with a smaller pulley, longtubes, and tune. The brakes, transmission, and rearend/axles hate my guts. I know they are used and abused. I would love to have this car factory equipped this way. You can't drive around a 400hp car with 600hp. It just won't hold up. Your talking about a reliable, mid eleven second, daily driven, ET machine. Why oh why would GM deprive us of this drag strip king?
