Just FYI, if you have an ACE hardware store near you, then they more than likely have plasti dip. I'm gonna go pick up a few cans and try this on my 20's this weekend.

It's hard to tell, but they look better than I thought they would. I'm gonna have to peel and respray the first wheel I painted, it was my test rim... So I can figure out time between coats, number of coats.. Etc.

I couldn't help but say to myself when I was painting them "I can't believe I'm spraying 40 bucks worth of spray on vinyl on my 38 thousand cars wheels"... But it helped me confirm that flat black wheels is the look I want.

I sprayed three coats total... The first was really light... Then waited an hour between coats. I found if you don't give enough time to dry between coats, the vinyl starts the gum up, and the texture feels like a cinder block, rather than smooth.

Looks good man. I cringed when I first did mine. But once you figure out how it goes down it goes pretty good as you found out.

After the first light coat, I'd make the next two coats thick. Spray until it looks wet, you'll think it will run, but it won't, and drys smooth.

some guys on the g37 forums have used plasi dip as a primer and then painted the wheels the color they wanted and then also cleared them. This way you can peel it away if you want to change it up

I'm still looking for a definite answer if anyone knows. I'm thinking about spraying a design on the front lip of my GM ground FX. does anyone know if the plasti dip will peel off the paint when it's time for me to take it off?

Is it painted or textured?? I would try the backside or under it first. I know VW guys have used it for a long time to even paint cars. They just used a couple coats of a nice wax if they care about their paint.
