Well guys I need to ring in on the party. Anyone that has followed my build is aware that I am 610 rwhp with a turbo. I too tuned the rev limiter to 225 mph. (want ever get there though) I can officially say this car will do the 185 mph on the speedo. According to laser speed detection equipment I ran 186 mph a few days ago. Let me stop there and say no one should try this again. These cars are not built for that speed. I am a professional and got big ball's. This car sounded as if it was going to explode from the inside out. Everything was rattling. Even the window class is too thin for these speeds. Lots of flexing in the sunroof as well. These speeds can only be had with lots of HP and a very long distance. Took us over 2.5 miles in sixth gear.
Again this should not be tried again in this car. Don't think this car could take the pressures that was exerted on it like that again |

155 was more than enough for me. Did it once and don't plan on doing it again. But my god going from 0-125 is so easy it feels like your doing 70. So smooth and effortless.

The rev limiter for 1st hit at 52
second winds out at around 65-70 third tops out at around 110 forth I hit 112 just when I went into fourth then had to shut down fifth I would guess the 155 for the tire rating sixth is more for cruising on the highway (down shift to fifth for torque for passing) these are what my car did a 2ss |

From tirerack.com: When Z-speed rated tires were first introduced, they were thought to reflect the highest tire speed rating that would ever be required, in excess of 240 km/h or 149 mph. While Z-speed rated tires are capable of speeds in excess of 149 mph, how far above 149 mph was not identified. That ultimately caused the automotive industry to add W- and Y-speed ratings to identify the tires that meet the needs of new vehicles that have extremely high top-speed capabilities. W 168 mph 270 km/h Exotic Sports Cars Y 186 mph 300 km/h Exotic Sports Cars While a Z-speed rating still often appears in the tire size designation of these tires, such as 225/50ZR16 91W, the Z in the size signifies a maximum speed capability in excess of 149 mph, 240 km/h; the W in the service description indicates the tire's 168 mph, 270 km/h maximum speed. 225/50ZR16 in excess of 149 mph, 240 km/h 205/45ZR17 88W 168 mph, 270 km/h 285/35ZR19 99Y 186 mph, 300 km/h Most recently, when the Y-speed rating indicated in a service description is enclosed in parentheses, such as 285/35ZR19 (99Y), the top speed of the tire has been tested in excess of 186 mph, 300 km/h indicated by the service description as shown below: 285/35ZR19 99Y 186 mph, 300 km/h 285/35ZR19 (99Y) in excess of 186 mph, 300 km/h |

ROAD & TRACK June 20091st (6500) 52 2nd (6500) 76 3rd (6500) 110 4th (6400) 155* 5th (5400) 155* 6th (3650) 155* *Electronically Limited. Obviously a simple electronic tune could eliminate the electronic speed limiter and increase the last three speed numbers.
