I think its funny how people get on here and think people are talking bad about them for buying there v6 when in all honesty we are just trying to point out the bad things about the v6 so the op can hear them before he puts money down on one! Like i said before there has been several people in this forum who have bought the v6 rather be b/c its all they could afford or they thought that would be plenty of car for them and in less than a year they jump at the chance of buying the ss. Yes SOME of you v6 owners love your car and thats fine but quit acting like someone stole your cookie just b/c an owner of a ss just told someone the bad things about a v6 and it hurt your feelings! Bc the statement wasn't directed towards you it was to someone who is deciding to by one or not so quit trying to justify why you bought yours and not the ss.

Look at it this way: A V6 Camaro is faster that a 66 426 Hemi. If that isn't fast enough for you, you have serious problems!

Faster Camaro then. Seriously, if TopShot is as "in" to hot cars as he seems to be (SS, C6, considering another Camaro), then why would he opt for a v6? The mileage advantages are gr8ly overplayed, the cost of ownership isn't much better than an SS, the resale value is a definite loss. If you're going for something more practical for your DD, then look at more practical cars (Cruze, Volt, Focus, etc.). I can't feel too sorry for him if he has a C6 to cruise in.

FYI, the 66 Hemi was under rated at 425 hp and 490 tq. The only thing that kept them slow in the 1/4 were the F78-14 stock tires.

First of all I haven't seen anyone come up with a legitmate "bad thing" about the V6. Second, not sure why you seem to always have to make every thread about either V6 vs V8 or about V6 owners. The OP specifically asked V6 owners about their impressions. Do you own a V6? No, but you decided to talk out of school anyway. I can only guess it was another attempt to start a V6 vs V8 bashing thread. Finally, a lot of SS guys have traded for things like Priuses, Cruzes, etc... Given the history of this forum, don't think many would admit to trading their SS for an LS/LT.

They are all Camaros and there isn't anything BAD about any of them!

Mine is trading hers in on a ZL1, doesn't really bother me much at all. After all we still share the driveway, so I'll have a ZL1 and a SS sitting out front the house.

He didn't ask about the Cruze, Volt or Focus. He asked about a V6 Camaro for a daily driver. I would assume if he's interested in any of those other cars he has already posted questions on those forums.

My, aren't you sensitive! Thread drift really bothers you, huh? Look, he's got an SS and a C6 in the driveway. If he wants to know how a v6 stacks up, go drive one. The whole thread doesn't make much sense but no way can v6'ers call foul on SS'ers posting to the thread. If it were me, I'd buy a hybrid truck http://www.chevrolet.com/silverado-hybrid-pickup-truck/?seo=goo_|_2009_Chevy_X-Div_Segment_|_Hybrid_Truck_Segment_|_Hybrid_Truck_ HV_|_hybrid_pickup&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=cp c&utm_campaign=Segment-Chevy-Hybrid_Truck_Segment_-_Phrase&utm_content=Search&utm_term=hybrid_pickup

I own one of each at the moment, so I can comment on both. The two cars are different with out a doubt. The in city mpg is within 4mpg and the highway is within 2mpg. The V6 rides much smoother then the V8. The handling is better in the V8, but much rougher due to a stiffer suspension. For those that say that there isn't much of a difference in speed between the two, the difference isn't even close. The difference in the torque between the two is black and white, the SS is better hands down.

They are both good cars, and I enjoy driving them both.

Why did you opt for an Orange one? Everyone knows they are the slowest ones!! Why did you opt for a 1SS when you could have got a much nicer 2SS? Why did you opt for a 2010 when everyone knew the ZL1 was just around the corner? Why did you even opt for a Camaro when there are faster cars out there? Why is there frigging 200 kinds of shampoo???? Oh, wait... it's called personal preference! Not everyone has to buy what YOU think they should buy... not every has to buy the highest trim level, to be perfectly happy!

My $.02: When I first started shopping around for a new camaro, I kept an open mind about which engine, model, price, etc. I should buy. I think everybody's decision is based on their own circumstances and preferences. It would be the first new car I had ever purchased (had new trucks before, but never a new car).
In my situation, I was attracted to the Camaro from the old school muscle car days and the "SS" "vibe". It wasn't until I got on these forums that to my amazement and disappointment there was so much disparaging of the v6, and of the v8, by members of both "camps". It seems to me after reading a lot of these threads it all stems from foolish pride, insecurity, vanity, jealousy, envy and plain old immaturaty.
Everyone likes to think they made the best choice for themselves, which I believe to be true, but others just can't stand someone else not seeing things there way.
A friendly discussion about differences in models to help someone who asks what car they should choose is a good thing, but not if it pejorates into someone being belittled of told they are "wrong". Everyone is entitled to their opinion, even if you disagree.
As to the op's inquiry, I think if I had the option, yeah, for some variety I would get a v6, someday I may do the same, they are a great car!
