I am having a very similar problem to this. I read through this entire post. I do not have a super charger though. CAI, Ported TB, shorties, SW retro cat back, and MSD wires for the high temp. I am having a really bad drop in MPG though. I pulled the TB noticed a leak at the bottom, due to not being tight enough, cleaned it up, retightened everything, and it fixed it. Well drove it from so cal to arizona and back, started at 26.2mpg crusing at 73MPH. By the time I came back, I had the weird idle again, and lost mpg to a struggling 22.5-23 mpg. Of course that is highway, in the city it drops to 14 without a problem and that is babying it. I am completely lost on this issue. Sorry if this sounds like a high jack but its just effing frustrating. Mine just had a WOT tune, and don't want to get it fully tuned when it sounds like its another issue. I am really interested to find out what you find is the problem.

What CAI and Throttle Body do you have?

My car was running weird so I decided to pop the hood. My intake tube had worked itself off the throttle body. I have no idea how long it had been like that. But that was the reason for my rough idle and engine shaking.

I have the CAI inc intake and VMAX TB.

I checked everything twice, with ears and hands to make sure nothing was loose. Everything feels and sounds great. No sounds of air leaks, or exhaust leaks. The only thing I was not able to check was if it is running rich like it was last time. Had excess residue on the tailpipe. I washed it then had to come back overseas.

I really appreciate you guys helping me out, but I am certainly NOT trying the thread jack at all.

Cool. Thank you.
This isn't a tune issue. You have something that comes and goes...either a vacuum leak or a shorted wire etc. If it ran great in the heat last year and runs fine in the cold then the tune is fine.

Tunes don't "regress."

I know you are looking for help but these threads where everyone just takes a turn guessing do nothing but confuse both you and anyone reading it.

Your tune was fine in both cold and hot weather....so eliminate the tune. The guy that tuned your car has tUned more cars than these guys have put miles on their cars. All tuners can miss something...but then we regress back to it was fine in the heat and in the cold.

So the one thing to answer first...is what is different? Have you installed something lately or changed a component etc? If so...there is your culprit...short of a failing part.

You can email a simple log file of the tune to Ron if it would make you feel better about eliminating that.

Motorcycles...many.

Cars...no flash tuning from scratch...just tweaking.

Decent amount of experience with old school chips.?..GNs.

Clearly actually tuning anything doesn't matter...just look at the responses in this thread.

Don't get annoying again.

Not 100% true. My tune was fine for the first week, then the idle started searching. As i stated above, it was in the tune....too much fuel at idle. Why it took a week to reveal itself is beyond me.

I've been logging it. I'll send a file to Mike and Ron once I get a good file with the PIDs that help.

It's too close to the fest to be able to get to them which is why I'm playing around with it now. Mike can't do an SCT file so only way to let them fix it is to make the 10 hour round tripper. Can't do it right now.

But nothing has changed. Except the cut outs.

A week...I could buy the tune wasn't thorough enough....a year and all 4 seasons later then it is unlikely to be the tune.

Ron is coming to the Fest...and he has EFI live...if you mail them the file...they might could see what's up and have an answer for you and even bring the tune to the Fest.
