I'd rather shift my own gears any day. I betcha I can shift just as fast as your paddles

My LS3 didn't start waking up till 300 miles. Now at 1100 and she is really, really getting better. Used to drive an 02 WS6 with 50hp of bolt ons.

Give it time.

just go to a dyno and post your power. Then we can go from there. My car just got back with the new computer. I was pushing high 200 to low 300 rwhp with the faulty computer. But now that they put a new one, I am pushing 380rwhp and 385 torque

Alright, to the dyno it is, now I just have to find one. I am in the Sarasota/Bradenton/Tampa/St. Pete area. Does anyone know where one is?

Elevation is important, the PCM/TCM is far more advanced than what is in your son's car. Your new Camaro has a Barometric pressure sensor, your son's car doesn't.

Another thing that is HUGE is fuel, what octane fuel are you using, and what is your son using? The knock sensors on your car are WAY more sensitive than what he has. Your car will spark knock 6 degrees with a quick snap of the throttle on 87 octane, your sons will not.

Also, if your son's car has 325 rwhp, it isn't stock. Your car is stock which we are seeing 325-345 rwhp in stock form due to drivetrain loss, the LS1 Transam was underrated hp wise and made more stock, but should have been around 300 rwhp(is your son's car modded?). Your car weighs a few hundred more lbs than his.

Is your son's car a stick or auto? Maybe he is getting better at shifting if it is a stick if this is the case?

Ok, I can literally go on forever here, but I really should stop now, far too many variables to this conclusion. Bring me your car and I guarrantee you will win after, lol, but seriously, answer those questions and maybe something can come from them. Some cars are faster than others, what I have never heard of is a stock LS2 GTO pulling away from a stock 02 Transam by 4 car lenghts, that don't happen around here, usually the Transam has a better shot at that one, but again too many variables.

Start modding, and you will get consistant once you are tuned in.

But, it doesn't hurt to get things checked out first, so dynoing your car isn't a bad idea either.
The LS1 stock were pulling 325 rwhp they were severly underated by the factory, if I could find the car mag I had from '99 that had the dyno results from an ls1 fbody I'd quote, but I must have got rid of that mag years ago.

ok so is it normal for cars with lower miles to feel slow? (i got my car a few days ago and only have 200 miles on it, a Auto 1SS). If so, how much actual power difference do you feel when you finish the break in? And even though im not supposed to , i have kind of been friving with a heavy foot. will this hurt performence in the future?. thanx

When I bought my '06 GTO with automatic tranny, I took it to the track and was getting beat by stock LS1 f-bodies (great cars by the way). This didn't seem right to me, I sent the PCM to a tuner (Texas Speed & Performance) to have restrictions such as torque management removed from the programming. I took it back to the track, I dropped .8 seconds in the 1/4 mile, and was now beating ls1 f-bodies.

Dude your GTO was probably faster.

400hp, 3700lbs, 18inch wheels with way better aerodynamics vs 400hp 3900lbs with 20inch wheels! I would think the GTO is quite a bit faster, don't always go by track results, they can vary A LOT by weather & track conditions.

My point wasn't how fast the GTO was, it was how much it improved. The runs were made with the same car, same driver, same track, similar DA, the runs were 1 week apart. My point is that the factory programming on 5th gen camaros is very restrictive.
