I kept the Front Catalytics due to the O2 sensors and have not had any problems. I would like to get some High Flow Catalytics, Does anyone have any advice on which company makes the best High Flow Catalytic????

You raise an interesting question. Since this car has 2 sets of CATs, would it still pass inspection if the rear set was removed leaving the front set hooked to the O2 sensors?

Also, Did the sound inside the cabin increase when you deleted the resonators??

The place that did my exhaust is also a N.C. inspection site and as far as they could tell while I was there, it still will pass the inspection.

The increase in sound is more noticable outsie the car, but I can tell a difference in the car if I am giving it a little extra throttle. The few people who have heard it were able to tell there was a difference, but I think that I would be happier with a nice set of High Flow Cats.

Just an observation -

MISLEADING INFORMATION

GM has a Manual and Automatic V8 Exhaust and a different system for the V6 altogether.

The systems are CHAMBERED exhaust systems and are not traditional straight through systems.

The attached pictures are for the L99 Automatic V8's

What the heck is going on with that?

I can't wait for my GMPP off road axle back to show up. Thats some crazy looking stuff going on with that muffler on the L99.

SGOS, are you going to try and post video/sound? The one posted on the "exhaust" link doesn't specify which GMPP version it is.

Ain't happening unless you add 2 more cylinders.

Funny Sound!

The L99 with AFM active sounds - hmm - not so good, running on 4 cylinders.

They HAVE to keep it quiet, and rather than give the LS3 better exhaust, they both get the quiet version.

.

Boy, are you right about that. My buddy put a axleback on his L99 and it sounds great until the 4 cyl thing happens under no load. Then it just sounds fugly as hell. Has anyone been able to tune this thing out? :(

FWIW- I had my J-cans removed yesterday, tips rewelded all for $60. This was done on a 2SS A6. One thing I noticed when the car was in the air was that it appears to have a muffler or another CAT just past the transmission. It looks as though is very restrictive as it has some sort of cross member a crossed it and the muffler/cat is reduced significantly in order for the cross member to pass over it.

First impression of the trashcan delete is favorable, slight drone in car, but tolerable. Seems to have a noticeable low end torque increase, certainly does not sound like my muffler fell off and honestly I did not notice the AFM activating via sound change- may be audible outside the car-but who cares- Boston Aucustic (sp) takes care of that.

Just my experience and for now this is what I am sticking with until the aftermarket can say POP. No way I am paying the prices that are being demanded for the current offerings.

Regards,
Mike

I agree, I had my mufflers chopped off yesterday, straight piped, with nice tips, left the resonator and all 4 cats. Course I do also have Doug Thorley shorties too.

It has almost an exotic V8 (ie ferrari, lambo V8) tone to it while driving at times. Sounds pretty cool. Louder than stock, of course, but isnt too loud, I think it sounds good. Startup and idle is cool too.

Even in V4 mode, I dont mind it. Wierdest part is when it switches from V8 to V4, and back to V8, it has a moment of wierd sound. But it is definately livable.

Here is a quick video of it, cut short, as my phone died while filming:
