Funny you should ask but I noticed a BIG difference after putting some in the other day. Happy with my LS3, but now its even stronger with the 93 octane and 3 more miles per gallon! Dont know why I listened to my salesman, telling me reg. was just as good with this engine - though I was still using mid-grade.

I don't want to see you waste your warranty man. You already have told me a few times you should of listened to me about the Camaro stuff. Don't jump the gun and mess up the warranty yet.
I won't. At least not yet. I'll wait for your data to come back. After that, if we're still at no resolution, I'm getting it tuned and hold on to this car til the end of the world. Then maybe ...... Ford?..........

I could not have been more happy! When I dropped the car off I included a copy of the brochure page of the Camaro that shows the 0 to 60 time advertised at 4.7 seconds and a stop watch. I also printed all the blogs regarding this issue from this blog and others. Take your dyno results as well. Scott says “Once at the dealership, we need your dealer to initiate a Technical Assistance Case through Launch Brand Quality process. So take it back to the dealer and make them keep it until they do something about it. My car has been at the dealer for 9 days now.
Bet you didn't expect all this when you ordered it.

However minor the issue, it is NOT YOUR responsibility to fix it.

I mean, people saying "oh, yea the A/F is a little wonky, but we can just tune it and its all better!" or "oh, go get it dyno tuned it will be fine!"

These are NOT solutions, they are workarounds! and unfortunately one thing they don't work around is you not being able to keep your warranty on the power train if you get it tuned.

Talk to your dealer, explain that something is not right, ask then to contact GM, let them know others are having a similar problem.

If your dealer doesn't believe you or care, which might be the case, contact a different dealer.

At the very least, do as Scott said and wait until they get some data off his computer, and see if there is some kind of issue. As well, wait for rpepka to find a solution for his car so as to see if it might be applicable to your case as well.

My guy just said "No man, it feels like a beast". WOW, what incredible diagnostic prowess.

If that doesn't resolve the issue, I'd have the dealer check it out .. maybe they will find something and all will be well.

You will get this issue resolved (I know that doesn't help the situation now), but if you had initially planned to not do anything that could possibly void your warrenty, stick to that as in the long run it will make you feel better! You will have lots of support on whatever decision you make and I hope it gets resolved for you.

Guys, I'm not trying to sell him a tune here, he is 5 or 6 states away, so I'm sure he is not going to drive the car all the way to PA. I'm just adding in expert opinion to the situation to help add as much information as possible to everyone's understanding of what is going on with these cars as I hate to see anyone dissapointed with their new machine
I apreciate the help. Really. I'll be there in the morning. No I won't.

I just got back (last week) from a long, multiple state road trip with the son. We were in the midwest and found ourselves using stations that didn't even have 90+ octane gas. Also a lot of ethanol at times. I definitely noticed a pick up and go difference... no difference in speed capabilities mind you, but a definite difference in acceleration. Back in Texas, where 93 octane is readily available, I noticed things getting back to normal.... I think it took a couple of tanks to flush the midwest gas out of the system.

Just dropped in a K&N filter this morning and noticed an immediate change in the throatiness and acceleration (otherwise, pure stock). Can't wait to get some times to compare my L99 against what IRPQ11 is seeing.

93 from the beggining here.

BTW guys. My dealer hasn't been obstructive. They just don't really know what to do with a 'healthy' car. I have to go this next week to start a Technical Assistance Case through Launch Brand Quality. He said I'd have to drop it off, so I couldn't the last few days I was over there. Like I said before. It's REALLY hard for me to get time away. I will be able to drop it off with them on Tuesday tough. And I guess I just drive my Jeep Liberty for the forseeable future.

I realize you are in MO but for those in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas, I called over 20 people yesterday trying to find someone who had the K&N in stock or could get it in a reasonable amount of time.

I found one place... TLC Accessories & Performance in Bedford, Texas. While they didn't have it in stock they were able to get it and have it in hand for me overnight.... with no charge to me for the service above/beyond the price of the filter itself. I called these guys yesterday afternoon... and they had the filter in hand at 8am this morning... and it was installed by 9.

Thank you TLC!

I'll be in Houston this weekend. Do you know where I can get one of those without ordering?

EDIT, you just answered.

Are you passing through Dallas? It might be cool to introduce our Baby's to each other and have a coke/beer. For your ampping purposes, the address for TLC is 1812 Reliance, Bedford, Texas. They are about 1 block north of state hey 183 (I spoke to "Brian" but I don't think it will matter much who you talk to) - telephone (817) 283-4991.

Alas. No. I'll be heading west across I-10 from Alabama. BUT, I will be drinking beer and floating on water this weekend. Bonnies brother lives in Houston and we're taking the boat out.
