The more you post, the more clueless you sound. So only "great" cars are fast sellers? So the Corolla must be God's gift to the automotive world!

Once again, this is a limited production, hardcore, track-oriented car. It caters to a very small niche of enthusiasts. Dodge's halo car sells what, 50 a month? And that's after stacking $15,000 on the hood.

While the rest of the World marvels at the fact that this car exists AT ALL, you continue to whine about the price as if Chevrolet owes you something. Believe me when I say, they do not.

You are clearly not the target audience for this car, nor do you understand the target demographic. GM didn't set out with intention to poach buyers away from the GT-R, 911 - those cars cost FAR more and offer more amenities, options and luxury than the Camaro. The Z/28 is a no frills, off the shelf track car. The fact that it performs on par with said cars for far less speaks volumes to the engineering efforts that went into it.

Camaro loyalists and track junkies CAN afford the Z/28 just like Dodge loyalists can afford a Hellcat. The Hellcat is still a Dodge no? Ford loyalists can afford the GT500 and GT350. We live in an age of $60k pony cars - accept it.

That's like saying NASA made a mistake making space shuttles only perform well in space!? That's exactly what it was designed for! I'm sorry this disappoints you. I bet you get mad that your lawnmower won't make you sandwiches too. Not everyone is constrained by YOUR budget. You may have missed it, but Chevrolet launched a 1LE package for the SS in 2013 which kicked the wind, water and sh!t out of the Boss 302 LS for a measly $37,000. Want more track performance? There's the Z/28 or Corvette. It's nice to have options.

Please describe the back seat of the Viper and Corvette for us. I said 2+2 and I NEVER limited it to domestics. The base Corvette can't keep up with the Z/28 on the track and the base Viper is $10,000 more.

I just think it was just overpriced from the getgo. It's clearly a one-hit wonder.... albeit an expensive one.
As I said above, this car was NEVER intended to be a volume car. Be thankful it exists at all. As for the price, show me anything remotely close to this price that comes with carbon ceramic brakes, multimatic DSSV dampers and a hand built engine as standard equipment from the factory. Sure your gorgeous Z06 is superior in every way (except back seat space lol) but it too is a perennial performance bargain.

That's exactly one of my focal points.

BTW, my GT350 order is in... an Avalanche Gray (DR + 900A non-R) with the Track Package (60T) and Painted Black Roof (94B) options.
I'll add an over-the-top stripe kit w/ a different trim color later on since Ford's current stripe offering options aren't to my liking...
Nice Z06. They are awesome cars for those that can fit comfortably in them. I'm 6'5" with a 38" inseam. My knees are pressed firmly to the lower end of the dash when seated inside no matter what I do.

Best wishes with the new GT350, I glad you'll be happy. Personally, I don't like it's looks. Not a slam on the vehicle or those who like it, just my opinion.

No doubt that both are great cars!!

On another related note, I've yet to see a Z06 that was under 90K. I know the base MSRP was 80K but I've never laid eyes on such a beast. Not saying they don't exist, just never seen it.

Or you can strip it down and have the pure track car like GM did. Had they had two versions of it like Ford does with the GT350 I would bet they would have sold instantly because 427 Camaro just sounds awesome.

Agreed, from everything I have read this thing is going to scream on the top end
Can't say I disagree with you as far as two versions are concerned when it comes to sales.

Not to venture too far off topic but I agree, it gets cramped in the interior for anyone who is 6++ feet tall! And in regards to the <90K Z06, mine is a perfect example since I ordered it that way back in Sept. 2014... the only option I wanted was the PDR/Nav pkg. A 1LZ Z06 is already well-equipped and GM already increased the base price by 1K a few months ago. Plus it's a M7 for me all day long... a very fun engaging beast on the track where I can now keep up and/or pass GT3's!

Back on topic... the true base MSRP of the GT350 is technically $49,995 because of the mandatory dest fee ($825) and the gg tax ($1300).

You whine about being too expensive then you whine about GM offering discounts on outgoing models? ($2,000 is NOT 20% by the way)

The Hellcat doesn't compete with the GT350 or Z/28, but your desperate attempts to mention it in every thread is amusing. Did you land a social media job with Fiat?
Interesting read from a few days ago.

Here's another one from BoldRide... pretty good tempting deal for anyone on the Z/28 decision fence. Maybe perhaps a rebuttal to the GT350 price leak??

http://news.boldride.com/2015/05/cam...ice-cut/79828/
"The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro has only just made its big debut, and enthusiasts are excited to get their hands on the sixth-generation of the car. That means 2015 and 2014 Camaros are now the underdogs as they sit on dealer lots. Chevrolet is offering several incentives to move those models before the new one hits dealerships this fall.

According to GM Authority, the 2014 is being offered with a $3,000 cash allowance on all models with an extra $1,000 good only for the Z/28. That $4,000 discount brings the MSRP of the 2014 Camaro Z/28 down to $68,305.

There is also a discount on the 2015 Camaro, but it’s not quite as deep as the 2014 model. Every 2015 gets a $1,000 cash allowance with an extra $1,000 for the Z/28. This takes the MSRP of the 2015 Camaro Z/28 down to $70,305. That’s not quite as good as the 2014, but it will still save you a bit of cash and make getting one of these parked in your driveway easier.

The offer is good for a limited time and with certain restrictions. The discounts are not available with finance or lease offers and consumers have to take delivery of their new car by June 1. If you’ve been thinking of purchasing a new Camaro, now’s your chance. Plus you’ll be helping Chevy inflate its Camaro numbers versus the Mustang."

I probably shouldn't have even comment in here, because I don't really see the value in either car, because I don't track my cars.

To me, $50k for a stripper model with a bigger engine is a terrible value. If the suspension/brakes/etc. that actually make this car shine were included, then it would be quite special.

Hellcat is 59K us and 63K cad. GT350 49K us and 62K cad?? Someone is on crack big time.

Give me a damn Stingray or a Hellcat then.

If the dollar value goes up next year Ill buy it in NY. ****k me.
Just FYI - The Hellcat in Canada MSRP is over 70K now. Dodge has adjusted its price. Almost no one got one for 63, they started with big mark ups and as the base price went up the mark ups came down, but they still run over 70K at the dealers.

The GT350 sounds like an amazing car, but I can't stand the new front end styling. Too weird.

What does this mean for A new Z28? Will they build a cheeper car to compete with the 350 and then the Zl1 will be the more expensive car to compete with the 500?
