Mid to redline my camed LS3 will pull away where the 6 gen has power fall off. The suspension feels times better driving out of the parking lot but at higher speeds my Bilstein setup comes alive where the 6 gen Mag ride setup calls it quits. I personally don't like the high speed dampening or stability of the 6th gen. Also the 6th gen is too damn nose heavy, reminds me of a non M BMW 3 series. Corners that I can just go into without brakes and turn in with my 5th gen the 6th gen had to be slowed to very low speeds and still required more steering control entering the corners. It's going to be harder to get the 6th gen to be more neutral.
The stock vs stock debate has already played itself out, and this is before the actual head to head tests have begun, lol.

For me, it will be interesting to see how many modded Gen 6's it will take, to begin knocking off modded Gen 5's off track lists (with same driver in the past) like at Laguna, Willow, and even the Fast List drag strip list on this forum as well. It will be interesting to see 3 years from now, looking back in retrospect, what will have transpired.

I for one, am too far ahead in the game, to start over again on a newer platform. By this I mean, I'm definitely not worried about a stock Gen 6 vs my ride.

Going from a factory 1LE to a '16 SS, the new car felt hundreds of pounds lighter and far more nimble and quick-to-point. That surprised the heck out of me. And the power delivery reminded me of a ZL1 in the butt-dyno...

I'm not attempting to discredit your impressions at all! I just think it's tough to compare a modified '15 to a stock '16, and expect it to be significantly better (depending on the modifications). There are many upgrades that can be done to a '15 that'll change the game.

For my part...I've now got the LS3 heads/cam upgrade, Z/28 suspension, diff cooler, Z/28 induction, and the Z/28 aero kit....and I'm confident the new 1LE will keep up closely on a track, though it likely won't feel as tight...

Don't hate on the same car you drive. They're all part of the same story.

From the video text it sounds like the dodge owner was very impressed with the camaro to the point of wanting one. Notice the camaro was a M6 so it could have been the driver.

Camaro Dude I got a question for you. Should I go with a new 2016 Camaro SS lease, a used Dodge Challenger RT with low mileage (2014-15) , a 2015 Mustang 5.0, or a used 2014-15 Camaro SS or that car that EVERYONE is talking about, The 2016 Toyota Prius GT?

Drive all of them and listen to no one on this forum.

Lol, I was somewhat pulling your leg, although I must say, that vid wasn't the most inspiring of vids that you chose, lol..

This a very tough one, and even tougher for me to answer, because I'm not that familiar with the Challenger RT, and I never even heard of the Prius GT, so I must in fact be out of the loop!

Test drive them all, see which one offers the most Smiles Per Gallon!

Man reading some of the issues people are having with paint etc. on Camaro 6 is very surprising. That alone is cause for concern right now. Liking it or not is becoming secondary in my mind. I haven't seen one yet but hope to soon.

I'm sure it will look better than in pics I know my Gen 5 does. In Canada a comparably equipped to my car 2SS is 60K so I will be keeping my paid for gen 5 for a good while yet.

And I don't drive the one I have enough to justify owning it sometimes let alone buy another one. Thats not a knock on the Gen 6 just my reality. I really doubt this car will sell anywhere near what Gen 5 did but I also hope I'm wrong with that prediction too.

OK, I missed this snippet, and the rules of the street force me to respond.

I'll respond in the form of a question.

How many seconds difference do you roughly estimate that was?

I ask this within the context, of how oooooooo and aaaaaahhhh people get, when they see a mere 1 second difference in 0-60 and 1/4 mile times between two vehicles, but when given the exact same race sans the numbers, but live, the conclusion tends to be more of a, "wow that was closer than I thought!"

OK, so I have no reason to get rid of my 2014 2LT RS 323 HP stock
well perhaps only to trade it in on a 2017 2LT RS 355HP 1LE
why? to piss off the few V8 and 1LE guys on here is the only reason.

too bad the only down side is the exchange rate. If the US guys think the price is too much imagine what we think up north. Perhaps the move from Canadian made was premature, imagine what we all could have paid if the 6 gen was built in Canada.

How is a "2017 2LT 355 hp 1LE " gonna piss off any V8 / 1LE is owners? The guys you call arrogant may not be as arrogant as they seem but just convinced in their 1LE's capabilities. The 5th gen 1LE is a badass period. I own a ZL1 but have owned 1LE's also and imo it is the best buy of the generation. But I am a hp/ handling junkie and the ZL1 is just friggin amazing in both aspects. If there was no Z then I would absolutely still have a 1LE.

The result with the 1LE equipment on the V-6 is quite impressive, according to Camaro Chief Engineer Al Oppenheiser, who says that in development testing, it produces comparable lap times to the outgoing V-8 model.
