Definitely the SS. Yes, I am biased, but honestly, after driving my friends 370Z and then driving the SS there was absolutely no comparison. On top of falling in love with the looks, the roar, and all the attention the Camaro receives, you need to answer the fundamental question yourself, do you want to spend this much money on a car?
You darn well know as soon as you drive this car off the lot, you're going to lose money, so this is not an investment. That being said, you just gotta go with the car that makes you the happiest, and let me tell you, with the SS you can't go wrong!

I'm sure your right and it's a blast to drive, but is it worth an extra 30k extra (lifetime of the car) extra for that little bit more speed. Again if it's speed you want, steer clear of any SS and wait for the speed deamon that is Z28

If that is how you got to that figure you reaaaaally need to recheck your math. The price diff MSRP is not far off at all. And right now where I live 93 is $2.55 and regular is $2.39. So for 16 cents diff which is probably $1-2 per fillup there is not much running cost difference between the two V6 vs V8. |

When in doubt, buy the V8!!! The six is nice but your not going to get the kick in the Butt feeling of the V8 when you punch it. For me thats where it is

I got the 1LT/RS, I wanted all the options and had the same problem as you, only problem was I didn't want the leather seats so that's why I didn't get the 2LT
.

I don't want to have to install a block heater when I go to buy mine... So no SS for me, lol.
Both get better gas mileage than my Blazer, so I'd be happy with either... But there's not many good winter tires for a 20" rim... The 2LT/RS combo has the smaller brakes, so you can run some 18" rims for the winter! And a block heater is a requirement for -40 ![]() Though, at $1.05 a liter (or $3.969 Canadian for a US Gallon) for regular (premium usually runs 10 cents a liter more...)... The V6 will be kinda nice at the pump, lol. The V6 is a 60 degree V6, right? Smooth running, good power, good mileage... I miss my old 3.4L TDOHC! lol |

Okay, so lets be clear ... When I say 30K extra over the life of the V8, I am referring too
a) Cost of the V8 b) Gas c) Insurance d) Tires .. and you will be going through a lot of tires on a V8 more ever then a V6 and they get VERY VERY expensive and these tired are "Z" rated I think ... very soft, something like $400 a tire. I had tires like that once that only lasted about a year. I was spending $1800 with tax a year on tires. e) Tickets ... lets face it, you have a V8, are you really going the speed limit ... I don't think so f) rough replacements .... your thinking, what the heck does this mean ... well I'm glad you ask, rough replacements is when you ride your car hard and fast. If you have a V8, you will race, turn corners, burn out, rev up and treat that car like it was your beoutch ... nothing wrong with that, I mean ... come on, its a sports car right, but with great power comes great responsibility. There will be a lot of parts to replace and maintain though out the years more often than a V6. Its all fun and games with a V8 and it will be, but once the bills start rolling in, you will remember this post thinking ... damn! that guy was right. This is all a mute point if you have money to burn, then V8 all the way baby!! ... shoot, go for the Z28 ... BUT!!! if you are on any kind of budget and money for you doen't come easy, go with the V6 ... cuz 304 ponies is nothing to sneeze at. That's my story .. and I'm sticken to it
