Back on topic.
As previously stated. I owned an 05 and 06 GTO. Now I own a 2010 Camaro. I can say with out a dought, that my 2010 Camaro is faster than both my GTOs (stock vs stock, mod vs mod). That's just the way it is.

One of the biggest problems with the GTO's is traction and wheel hop. GTO's come with skinny 235 (18s) or 245 (17s) wheel and tire setup on the rears. They also have serious wheel hop issues.
One of the first mods for GTO owners are suspension parts and drag radials to help with their 60' times. Then the guys roll their rear fenders so they can fit larger tires.
Even the "stock" GTO's I see at the track have at least drag radials.

A lot of the "stock" times in the GTO forums are cars that have drag radials.

NHRA-- face it, people are exploding with envy.

PS-- Maybe I am wrong, but I don't even think "BONE" stock is an official term.

Last I checked cars don't have bones? Hell, I could take a car and flat bed it immediately from the dealership, and drop it off at the staging lanes of a track. and I wouldn't be "bone" stock-- because I have a titanium pin in my left radial head (elbow).. SH%T I can NEVER say I was BONE STOCK again! BOOOOO!

Let the ridiculousness ensue.

Figured I'd bring this up since is a true stock 12.6 Camaro run, never had a problem with the 12.6, just calling it stock, talk about giving credit where due, the other Camaro was bone stock and hit a 12.6.

My 2005 GTO - LS2/AUTO went 13.47@ around 105. This was all stock other than having the the stock tires replaced with Nittos. The car had just under 1000miles on it, so not to broke in.

I ran a 12.655@110.8 in my stock GTO, she had more left in her but she was hard to launch at that particular track, I think the 60' was a 2.0 something. I averaged 12.7's and .8's. I was only able to do the 12.6 twice. She was a 6 speed too. If I was driving a camaro I could beat it, I raced 2 camaro's, 1 auto, 1 stick. The stick kept up a lot better then the auto, I guess cause of the autos lower output. But like I said if you put me in the camaro I'd beat my GTO.

I ran 12.9's in my stock goat (06), seen a guy run 12.9 in a stock 04! He has raced a long time and knows how to go down the track. I was a drag racing rookie. I have since been able to hit 12.2 with a cam. Looking to get into the high 11's with some slicks this year. Have seen an auto SS Camaro at the local track getting humiliated by everything it raced... Have yet to see any M6 Camaros. 12.6 stock is pretty impressive. Hope to see some out at the tracks this season.

That Auto SS needs to do the fuse pull (if he isn't running low 13s or better).

I owned an 05 and 06 GTO and my 2010 Auto SS has been running faster times (mod vs mod) than both my GTOs. I'll admit they're close, but my Camaro has been running faster.

And a stock 04 GTO running 12.9 would be like a stock 2010 Camaro running
12.3. Yes, it might happen, but the gods will have to be pushing the car down the track.
In my years of hanging out with guys that own 04 GTOs, I never saw a stock 04 GTO come close to 12.9.

Yeah I didn't believe it until I saw it! It was not on ideal weather conditions like the Camaro 12.61 run either. Just a normal summer/early fall night. 04 Barbados Blue 6 spd. Guy could drive! Wasn't even at a great track, Kil Kare in Xenia, OH.

I would love to have an LS3, looks like they like mods better than the rest.

The Camaro I have seen run was on an 1/8th mile track. Owners of the track run the car, don't think they really push it. However, I also never saw them win a race!
