Tomorrow I'm heading back over to remove what parts I can from the stereo (aftermarket).

One step at a time.. I'm nervous but that stereo needs to be removed asap as I put way too much effort into building those sub boxes. All the wiring job is lost with the car which is too bad because boy, I must have spent close to 20 hours wiring/soldering wires.

Um, I would love to say yes but the furthest i got in the discussion with the man was when he asked me about the trim model of my car.

I have no clue what happens next, anyone have any idea? Replacement? Payout? I also wonder what happens to the car from here.

Untill I know the exact fate, I'm still feeling depressed sitting on top of the fence thou getting my car audio out will help give me some justice... and also to see the car one more time before I part with it forever :( .

I hope they have you back in a new Camaro soon... best of luck and I'm glad you walked away. Now you have a little more experience under your belt that may keep this from happening again in the future...

Sorry about your loss.

I spun out my 370Z in very very light snow and then bought snow tires the next week. $1500 snow tires will save my $36000 Z!

Hope everything works out

Have faith man, Insurance should pull through, assuming the only wrong doing is the tires, and it wasn't some other form of gross negligence. (But then again Canada seems to be very different in this area,,,, so who knows)

They will most likely write you a check for what they value the car at. You might loose a few thousand from what you actually paid for the car, but it should be more than enough to get a new one. Good luck hopefully you can put that stereo into your new camaro asap.

Since I wont show how horribly damaged the front was because I dont got the guts, I would like to show everyone just what it looks like after the air bags deploy.

The aftermarket Premier Car stereo was removed minus a few pieces I had to leave behind. The whole process had taken about an hour to complete.

So with that said, these are the final photos before I parted with the Cammy :( . Boy is this hard to swallow walking away... forever.

The airbag from the steering wheel actually destroys the center piece minus where the volume button/controls are. The other side of the steering wheel center piece where the cruise control is cracks in half. Airbags come down from the ceiling along the sides which you can see here.

Also, it was the airbag that smashed the front windshield, just look where it comes out from...

EDIT: removed a few photos that I dont think are worth posting..

DJ, being less than one year old, i would be shocked if your policy didnt have a 46r??? unsure if thats the code, but it means replacement value of car. if you paid over mrsp, your boned, and you likely would fight for your trim upgrades.
if you yow cash on it in form of lein, it will be paid first, then you get whatever is left over assuming you get replacement value. if you paid cash for it, they cut you a cheque. then off to the dealer you go to reorder....or buy something cheap enuf that you dont need collision coverage. i cant recall your age, but i think you under 25, right? i personally had my camaro insured for replacement value--also included extra spent on the maggie and exhaust 65k. so technically i am still under insured, as i have 70k cdn into my car. i believe i have to pay almost 2k/year premiums, and im 40+ and perfect licence.
keep us posted.

Sorry to here about the car.

However, I have a way that the car may be able to live forever. When you settle with the insurance, let me know when they plan to sell it at auction for parts.

If I could get the computer, motor, tranny and all that I would like to try a transpalnt into my 68 Camaro.

Your Bumble Bee could get a new life...
