that would be my suggestion.. put a trailer hitch so you can attach a bike carrier.. I see sports cars tow sportsbikes but have not seen bicycles

Put a hitch on it, and use it for the bike rack. It'll keep the car from getting scratched and is more secure than a trunk rack. I wouldn't worry about what people think about how it looks. If it gets you to the trail and back, do it!

If you have room, you can also add a rocking chair like Jed did for Granny.

Sorry! I know you're looking for positive feedback but, I couldn't resist.

If I were to do this I would probably go with the Hitch route. (probably wont unless I move back to CO) You can get them, usually, well hidden so they dont mess up the look of the car when not in use. Also, in past vehicles the hitch bike racks where more securable (can lock em to the car so they cant be ripped off) and less likely to damage the car.

OK, so I am going to chime in on this very old thread. I too am considering a hitch or my 2012 SS2. I actually have a truck with a hitch; it's the wifes ride and it actually cost almost double what the Camaro cost.

I want the hitch so when we take our bikes (hers is about 6k and mione about 5k) to the park I dont have to show up in the truck. I actually LIKE driving my camaro.

I want the hitch so I can tow a motorcycle trailer when I want to go somehwere out or town but dont want to me restricted to only 2 wheels. While I really enjoy both rides, I like to 'mix it up' a little. Also, the wife WILL NOT go on a long ride on 2 wheels, but she will go somewhere in the car and then ride with me to see things and tool around. Besides, nothing would look cooler than my 2102 SS with my Harley Softail in tow. I inly wish I had bought the two together so that I could have matched up the paint.

how about a socket wrench and manual instead lol you can use it for when you take it out of the trunk and put your bike back together

I am going to order the single version for my car
A: I would NEVER trust my $5000 bike to a few suction cups. Even if they're straight from NASA. I have enough trouble with my T2.

B: That's gotta make a real mess of your paint over time. Unless your car is absolutely spotless. Like wash and wax before every suctioning type clean. I'll definitely pass on those.

People who are putting bike racks on their cars are probably not doing it so they can toss a few Huffy's on there.

Taking my bike apart enough to fit it in my trunk would take a very long time, and many tools, and some clean paper towel and some fresh grease. And i'd still end up crimping and ruining my cables on a regular basis.

No offense but this is the 30th time we have heard this response in this thread. It is a useless one.

You must not be a bicycle owner to say this. Removing the wheels or in some cases taking half the bike apart to wiggle it into the trunk of your car is a bad idea. Firstly you will get grease all over yourself and the car from the chainring, the chain hanging after removing the wheel, and the rear cassette. secondly taking it apart and then having to put it back together for some bikes is a pain, lining up the wheels with the brakes, the possibility of pulling or pinching the cables, and getting grease all over my hands getting the chain back on to the rear cassette, etc.

If I go somewhere with my bike I want to get on and ride it, not dick around with it for 20 minutes and worry if I broke something during the drive there. My bike is worth more than a good used car it shouldn't be treated like a wal-mart huffy.

Yeah, I had a great rack on my Mustang, and no matter how hard I tried, still ended up with scratches from the straps. Hitch is the best way to go.
