Just got mine done today, the shop did a great job, with one minor complaint....tips are slightly off (one sticks out slightly further than the other).

Sounds AWESOME!!!!!!!

One other minor thing... they welded a slightly smaller pipe inside my original pipe. Don't know if this is a big deal or not.

Shouldn't be any big deal. They had to do that kind of stuff on mine as well. This is where buying a complete cat-back would have a slight advantage but really I don't see how you would ever notice a difference. The air flow might be ever so slightly restricted but again it's not going to be anything you would feel or see on a time slip.

Depends on who your welder is. If they are any good they won't need to use a smaller pipe.

First they should spot weld it, then line it up, then fully weld it.

Good deal.....

I'm still happy with my setup. I have noticed a slight drone at about 1800 rpm in 5th or 6th gear if the car is under load (ex: trying to go up a slight hill on the highway). Not that big a deal to me because you either back off the gas a little or give it a little more gas and it goes away. I think this is common on most of the systems.

Another thing I did and would suggest is painting your exhaust. I did it to cover up the welds from the muffler delete plus the welds on the factory hangers were already rusty looking and you could see those from behind the car. I just happend to have a can of VHT 1700 degree Aluminum colored paint I got at a parts store. When I had it on a lift one day I just used a little cardboard as a protector to not get paint everywhere and shot the section of the exhaust that you can see from behind. Took like 5 minutes. Now it looks all nice and aluminum shiney from behind.

Good luck....I don't think you'll be disappointed. Let us know how it turns out.

i will man. did you paint it silver or what?? i'm wanting it black to blend in, the ugly mufflers, though straight through design, are bugging me and really behind why i'm doing the exhaust in the first place.

There isn't a whole lot of the pipe visible with the muffler delete. Actucally the main thing that shows is where the factory hangers attach.

I used VHT brand 1700 degree paint. The color is called "Aluminum" and said something like "with ceramic". It looks like a nice aluminim color.

Go with a flat back 1700 degree paint if you don't want it visible at all. Just wait till you have it back fromt he muffler shop and then see what you think.

Is the X pipe/resonator really an X pipe? Does it cross over on the inside?

I have the Magnaflow street catback and I'm assuming that's the same resonator I have. I believe the Magnaflow Street uses the same resonator/xpipe/muffler along with two extra mufflers near the end.

I believe the part number is 11386. If you go on the Magnaflow website it says its a dual inlet/dual outlet muffler. I doesn't say anything about it being an X pipe.

I'm just hoping it is an X pipe of sorts and not just a dual inlet/dual outlet muffler.

I'm not sure on that system but if it is using the 11386 it is a x-pipe. If you look at my pics in the begining of this thread you can kind of see it but it was definately an x-pipe on the inside. It is preforated as well.

I'm pretty confident its the same thing. It's good to know it's an X pipe of sorts. I looked at the pictures, but I still wasn't sure. As mentioned, Magnaflow doesn't say anything about part # 11386 being an X pipe. They should mention that in the description of the part.
When I get a chance, I'm going to call Magnaflow and ask them if 11386 is also used in their Steet Catback.

The 11386 is the same exact piece used in their catback system. And when I did my research on the Magnaflow website it said the muffler had an x-pipe. That was awhile ago but they called it a Tru-X muffler.
