What does it mean when the rail tracking phone recording states that the car has been released by the customer?

I'm not sure what that message means but go to camarotracking.com - those guys got it all goin' on over there.

Mine was unloaded yesterday and waiting for a truck....!!

Just checked the status on the phone and the recording stated it was in a hold status.

I guess that could mean it is waiting on a truck?

ON HOLD
Hold can be anything, no real way to know why it is on HOLD. If it is a prolonged length of time contact the general manager and ask the reason

Tracking your railcar can be confusing. I am using the CSX phone number and the tracking is giving locations but it still states that the railcar is moving with CN which is a Canadian train. It tracked to the Chicago area, then back to Indiana, then to a city in Il. which I couldn't make out. I also called UP and they gave me a ETA for the railcar for 4/4/10, yet it is still moving with CN heading west.

It keeps you guessing. It will eventually make it to Oregon, but it is fun to track the train across the country. I understand once UP takes over, the tracking ends. Just a ETA from them.

Update: I am receiving tracking from UP. Once you get past the automation prompts, you get tracking info. My railcar is now in Kansas City. My ETA at Industry (Portland, Or.) has been changed to 3/31/10.

just called the CSX number and it says transferred to repair track in somewhere, Georgia with no eta. is that just a normal message or is something on the train being repaired? hopefully it wont take long to get to florida

Check out camarotracking.com -- those guys got it all going on.

Mines on a truck out of Chicago now-- three hours and an eternity away....
