Anyone have the proper part numbers for the fobs. Not the OHT01060512 number as that is standard for a lot of GM vehicles. I have a 2010 2SS with the L99(automatic) and remote start. I already have a failed fob that I guess didn't match perfectly, everything works but remote start.

if you have a DTC stored, remote start will not work

Thanks guys, I would really like new remotes and I guess I will have to invest in a scan tool to check for codes but I don't think that's my issue as the remote I got opens the trunk with remote start button even when pressing lock first. It's basically 2 trunk release buttons lol. Really wish someone could tell me what the original part numbers are on the fob. Mine are worn off now.

Good day, gentlemen,

Another question about programming new fob key ( flipping):

I've got my Camaro SS 2012 with one key, so, I googled and decided to try programming the key for myself.
1) Ordered a couple of different blanks from non-GM vendors, got them cut, the method with using existing original key and "ON" position did not work.
2) Ok" - I said. Googled a bit more, found the line on this forum ( thank you), discovered GM parts direct site, ordered 23335584. Got it cut, tried the method with quick swap via "ON" position - nothing. The DIC keeps showing "Theft Deterrent System" message.
2.a) Tried the same via starting the engine this time and then moving new pre-cut key to ON position. Nothing.
2.b) Using the new key from GM parts, tried the method with keeping in ignition hole for 3 x 11 minutes periods. Nothing.

I would appreciate any guidance or thoughts on this, cause looks really strange. The only things worth noticing:
*My Camaro is Europe version ( could not find any difference with US, actually).
*Time to time I get "Headlamp Levelling Malfunction" message.

Thank you.

I have tried both of these methods on my 2010 2SS and both work.

Thank you, good sir. Tried exactly the same with no positive.

In case of the second option, the Immobilizer light keeps flashing after the 10 mins and even doesn't think to go away.

I am concerned about "Service Theft Deterrent System" message I receive on DIC in both cases... All three different blanks (flip) were cut by the same guy - may the wrong cut cause this issue? Yet visually cuts are similar to original case , both doors, gas lid and ignition hole are operated OK with all three "new" keys.

Magic. Dark one.

Will take to a dealer this week for oil change, ask this question as well.

p.s.: A month or so ago dealer sounded equivalent of 230 USD for new key + programming. This would be pain.

Unfortunately, topic remained open and looks like the guy has left forum.

Maybe your fob does not match your Camaro.I see that number you got works on V6 but I don't think they are all the same. Look at this thread I started when I was searching for correct fobs because I ran in to some problems too. I bought fobs that programmed ok but would not remote start. The fobs I got opened the trunk when I pressed the remote start button. This was my first problem.

Had a closer look at my key and the one from GM parts:

Both are OEM by strattec, but the difference is that my original key has GM 13501260 ( as PN on the fob body itself) and the new one I've received is GM 13500221. The mark-up on printed circuit boards inside the fobs are different as well.

Thinking of repinining the new cut blade into the old fob and checking if it works. This would prove it's definitely the fob causing the issue and not the badly cut blanks on all the new ones.

UPDATE: OK, everything is simple. Chevrolet in Europe operates on 434 MHz so key fobs aimed for US market are twice cheaper, but absolutely useless as they do operate on 315 MHz. Yet TPMS operates in 434 MHz everywhere. Nice move, Chevy, nice move...

Yeah I guess your profile beside your posts are not very detailed either. You need to update your info with proper country and year of car also. I did not realize you were from another continent. But yes the 315 vs. 433 would make a big difference as well as that is the frequency that the information is passed on. And believe me those part numbers really make a difference too. I know some don't have to be the exact same number to work but some will not work properly like those ones I had bought before even though the seller advertised a perfect matching number. Lots of crap coming from China but it's cheap and if it doesn't work all you have to do is give them the proof and you get your money back.

Yet I prefer publishing info in the question itself, the good point in profile, thanks.

Yep, so that's my plan - get the chip chinese replica in 434 Mhz and see what happens. As the last resort: original GM 434 MHz key (5 button) costs 100 USD vs 40 USD by 315 MHz US version. "Buy American!" was never so close to me

p.s.: Just for a record - STRATTEC is the manufacturer of original GM keys (GM does not do keys themselves) and they do have online catalogue with internal STRATTEC part numbers for all possible keys for all GM cars they ever supported. Might be useful at some point.
