I'm still trying to decide if I should go with the 305's or 275's for the DR's on the stock rims. They will only be used for the strip. Any suggestions?

I promise you the wait will be worth it that first time you fire her up. Lingenfelter really did it right!!! I'm just happy knowing my car is there and will be coming back with this awesome upgrade. Hey RS do you need any groceries, or maybe a quick trip to Home Depot?? I can be right back in a jiffy if I can just take your car.
Ahh..winter is my favorite time to go the our cabin, kids play in the snow and I get much needed rest.
What is your guys altitude? I am at about 3500 feet I am thinking that s/c should really make a difference here. (just wait for him to get busy on something and sneak off for a ride) I will bet he wont even mind.

Hey speed, I too am anxious to see the LPE GFX package. The rendering is the best I have seen. I finagled a way to get out to SEMA on Wednesday night and attend the show Thur and Fri. If time allows maybe we could hook up for a cold one?

I have never been to SEMA and this seems like A good time to make it my first.

I was reading on the SEMA website that pics were not allowed for general attendees only media, anyone know if this is true?

Aside from the street slicks, with almost 600 hp at the rear wheels I dont think any tire is that much better once you are in the high end.
Like Windy said we will just have to learn with our right foot.
I have heard good things about the nittos, cornering is where these high end tires shine.

Yeah, the cabin is beautiful in the winter. Ours is at 9000 ft altitude and after it snows 2 ft we can't really get in. Sometimes we can park below and ride the ATV's in for a day trip. At the house we're at 7000 ft and in town it's about 5500 ft. RS said he could feel a difference in the altitude driving in town, so your LPE 650 should really scream for you.

Junkie, did you put those Nittos on the stock rims or did you go wider for the back. What size if you did.

Strange, if they dont allow pics, the whole purpose is to promote all the new stuff.

Ours is at about 8300' but the roads are paved and plowed.

I was wondering how wide we can go on the rears as well, Junkie? Windy?

All the AutoX guys 'n girls that don't run on R series compound are driving on Kumho Ecsta or Bridgestone Potenza RE-11's. Unfortunately, none of these fit a stock 20" Camaro wheel - the largest they make right now are 19" for both types.

That's the biggest reason I dropped down to 19".. also for the gear change (will be like changing the rear gears from 3.42 to 3.71) by using the smaller diameter tire. They are wider by an inch in width on the road. The 19" size also reduces unsprung weight, which is important. I will drop 13 pounds for each rear tire/wheel and 9 pounds each for the front.

Total weight savings of 44 pounds just in tire/wheel weight, 1" wider tire, better gearing, car is lowered another 3/4", brakes will not have to work as hard. Replacement cost for 1 tire is $275.00 - half price of the Pirelli's.It's all GOOD!

That is exactly what I was thinking. After looking on there website the only thing I could come up with as to why, would be the theft of an idea.

Maybe someone who has been before can chime in on this.

I believe it is ok to have cameras at the main SEMA show, just not the APEX show at the Sands.

Thanks 570, great info. In your previous post you also said all the wheels are the same size? So are your fronts 1 in wider also? Are these Bridgestone Poteza's the run flats and if so so they give you a much stiffer ride?

It Depends..
Biggest obstacle will be the stock rims at 9.5 " wide.
Are you going to stay with the stock rims?
If the height changes from 28.7", the speedo will need to be modified by sending the PCM to LPE to change the tire size. (I have to do this for the 19's I am going to run.)

There is room to go wider, but not many wider tires will fit the stock wheel. Go to tire rack and experiment with tire sizes. Be warned - almost all of the 20" tires are in the $500.00/ea price range. even with wider aftermarket rims, the 20's are still expensive.

It took me a month to find the right tire/rim combo that will work with my combination that I posted in the earlier posts for the 19" size.

RS - We definately need to hook up for a cold one!! I am going to PM you my number. Give me a call and we will figure something out. I signed up for the Wednesday night dinner at Yolie's, it looks like a few Camaro5 members are going. It is at 7pm Wed night, if you are getting in by that time. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45042

I read the SEMA rules about no cameras or video cameras but I talked to a friend out there and he said they get a lot of pictures, so it should be cool. I think it is like Graham said, maybe in the APEX area they are not allowed.
