I think this is something I want to do to. Let us know if you decide to do the install yourself. I'm very curious the difficulty level to get it done.
I certainly will. I prefer to do it myself and save the money, but I really want to make sure fitment is perfect and tight/clean. My main concern is putting them on worn seat foam. I'm sure it will be fine, but new foam would have been preferable. I'm not concerned about the rear seats though. My originals look brand new still, so the underlying foam should be perfect.

Anyhow, super psyched to install them, although not sure if I am self-installing or getting them done professionally yet. The seat covers themselves are rather simple, as GM did not use hog rings on the 5th gens. But the kit also came with armrests, center console lid cover, dash trim covers, door panel covers...not sure if I'm forgetting anything. I also plan to drop the OEM and new headrest covers off to see if I can get the SS logo embroidered on the new covers, as Katzskin doesn't have licensing to do them unfortunately.

I went with black with perforated inserts like OEM and red stitching. I also upgraded them so only the sides and backs of the front seats are vinyl. Not sure of the vinyl content on the rears. Cannot wait to get some of that smelly leather goodness back! Oh yeah, if any of you are ever in the market for new 5th gen seat foam you are out of luck. GM being GM, they discontinued them, of course. I can't find new seat foam for our cars anywhere that actually has them. Sorry...just super excited for upgrade.
I would go with professional installation... Here is my reasoning...

I installed a Katzkin Leather kit on my 2002 Avalanche... They looked super loose, didn't fit very well, etc... The problem was not the kit itself. The problem was that the truck was over 10 years old and the foam was squished and worn so the foam wasn't plush enough to properly fit the cover. I took it to a professional interior shop, they removed the covers added some foam to the seats and then they came back looking great. So if your seats are well worn, I recommend having a professional shop install them. If you want to save a few bucks, remove the seats yourself and bring them in seperately. If you are trying to go the whole mile and do the door panels and center console...Then you probably will want to just drop the car off at a professional shop.

Been looking at wheels and not quite ready to pull the trigger on a set yet.....

So I decided to change what I have just a little.... Small change but made a big impact I think for the overall look of the car... Looks more aggressive to me.

Also did a polish compound and a wax on the entire car...

Thank you brother, I appreciate it. Yeah, that's the way I am leaning now. My driver's seat is definitely well worn. I have tried unsuccessfully to find new seat foam for our cars, but its practically unobtanium...thank you GM. My rear seats are like brand new, like most other 5th gen owners. So yeah, your example is exactly what I am worried about - loose fitting covers that don't look and fit like factory. Katzskins are NOT cheap, so why bother cheaping out on on installation, right?

Installed Five8 coilovers in the front, lowering it about one inch. First time doing this, so it took me about 4 hours. Feels very planted, and the slightly lower stance looks good. Also installed a splitter in the front, which enhanced the look a bit.

Doing the rear coilovers, side skirts and rear diffusers later this week

Very cool! Always looking for "something different" and did not want to go with the typical black wheels on a white car stormtrooper look...

Did you use vinyl for the inferno orange on the wheels?

Yeah, they will just glue a block of foam to your seats and cut it to shape and fit the covers accordingly. Katzkin covers are certainly not cheap but they are OEM or better quality. My seats in my Avalanche were PERFECT after the install. It will give your car that "new car smell" as well with the fresh leather. Defintely worth the extra buck to have professionals install them. Just make sure its a reputable shop. If you happen to be in south Florida I can recommend someone, as one of my best friends works car interiors down there.

My coilovers took a few weeks to fully settle and my car just kept getting lower and lower. I think BC racing says they will continue to settle for the first few weeks of driving.

SWEET! Wow! love that short throw shifter. Very nice! and you didn't take enough off to make it that much harder to shift either I had a vw Golf once that had a super short modified shifter in it but it was so short it was actually a bit of a pain to get into gear sometimes but that might have been because it had issues with the synchronizers or something becasue the trans blew about 3 months after my poor buddy Billy bought it. I helped him swap it since I felt guilty (and his dad said something to my dad about it which didnt help)

Thanks! It actually didn't have a short throw shifter in it when I posted this, just an aftermarket shift knob and handle. Recently I did install a Barton short throw shifter on it that retained the same look that I had before. Looks identical, but the throws are much shorter now.
