the rear wheels are 18" C5 Z06 wheels. theyr'e the smallest ones he could put on that would clear the brakes.

Will also say with all of those mods, the camaro still needs some work. A GT with a Techco blower, and exhaust, heads, ran 11.2 I would have though that a 200+ of the giggle juice would have at least produce below a 11.5

So is it safe to say both cars should have had better numbers?

It is almost always about the driver. When a Cobalt beats a Corvette it is not the car. When a base model SS beats a GT500 it is not the car. When a Civic beats an SS it is not the car.

As said, when it is mod on mod, same driver in two vehicles, apples to apples, then you can start talking about the cars.

Without seeing the timesheet I can't tell if the driver had a huge influence or not. It did look like the Mustang did not do that well on release, maybe 0.6 or so compared to 0.45 on the Camaro? The wheel spin and some down range problems as well contributed to the slower time.

Our Z28 was set to outrun their top car, that's really all that needs to be said, and it would have, like always LOL. I wouldn't mention the 80's either, an L98 IROC-Z is a better stoplight racer and a better overall performing car than a 5.0. Straight-line alone doesn't make a car. If that was true we wouldn't be wanting sharper suspension to beat out the new GT's track pack next year LOL.

In this specific incidence it looks like the GT500 was pretty stock...what did it trap like 116? The camaro trapping 120 would have had the upper hand had the GT500 hooked or not...problem is, it was a 200 shot, so it should have had it either way. I don't think everything was totally sorted out with the car though, because Hennessy's TVS Camaro actually trapped more mph on less hp (supposedly) than this car, so it probably still has "some" tuning gremlins. Eitherway, a 200 shot SHOULD outrun a basically stock GT500.

Fella's don't kid yourself, there will be plenty of video's here pretty soon of camaro's getting nailed by GT500's, if you don't want that to happen you better be building a shortblock (for either massive spray or massive boost). If the GT500 is modded it will likely be game over...better hope they are stock.
