MY Love that is... CTS-V, the Fastest Production V8 Sedan in the World

THANK U THANK U THANK U GM... I love U for this car.

I found it interesting that the Politicians exclaim that GM doesn't build cars that people want.. yet I find myself with two cars in my garage that have me literally trying to come up with excuses why I couldn't go to Easter Dinner so that I might have time to drive them both on this beautiful sunny day. I was lucky on that Friday that I was able to have a fairly nice sunny run up to South Jersey... via 95n in my LS3 Powered 477HP Z51... Just as fortunate that yesterday after the rain went away I was able to take my lovely wife out to Fogo De Chao for dinner in Baltimore.. where the valets went absolutely GA-GA over my super 556HP Cadillac V. I mean this isn't a strange thing.. My previous luxo car was a black 2005 STS 4.6L. That car tended to stop people in their tracks, despite the fact that GM neglected marketing it properly... or making it larger to compete with what it should have been competing... or give it an updated Direct-Injected or Super-Charged base V8 with more that it's.. or the M45's 320-25HP.

Truth is that cars like the CTS, Malibu and such simply personifies where GM could go.. where Cadillac should be across the board. The CTS-V is the reapings of what was before the financial meltdown... right before the new UAW contracts were to come on line.

The very idea of this car is ADDICTIVE. Cadillac took an already stellar car, tweaked it's suspension, it's braking, it's cool.. added one of the most durable, race-proven, efficient, and powerful engines in the world.. from one of the greatest cars in the world... and created a recipe that would have Mother Theresa turnin' trix on the Boulevard to afford the $65K askin price.

The car is MONEY, COOL, SLICK, SEXY, BOMBASTIC... whatever U wanna call it...

It's a roll because they are steadily improving every month. It's a roll because they are gaining market share. It's a roll because of the sales successes of several of their models. It's a roll because they have actually had a quarter with profits in this bad economy.

Your question was not whether GM was the #1 automaker it was if FORD was on a roll. It should be very obvious to anyone who isn't biased that they are. You can cite partial facts and twist them up but Yes Ford is on a roll and you know it. Fun way to start an arguement tho'.

not to kill the mood, but thanks to porsche the CTS-v is no longer the fastest production V8 in the world. it is simply the best bang for the buck considering it is half the price of the twin turbo panamera.

i would be interested to see how a manual CTS-V does around the ring though. to see if it can improve cadillac's time by 3 seconds to tie porsche.

I don't know that Ford is on a roll as much as it has become the default setting for buyers. They want to buy American, but they don't trust that GM or Chrysler will be around. They are PO'd at the bank bailout and the auto bailout and the everybody but them bailout and are going Ford because it didn't get bailed out.

The BMW is not my only car. I have several cars and have owned several cars. Maseratis, Posches, some Chevys, 1 VW, several BMWs, several Fords have all leake oil on my driveway. Yes I am a huge Ford fan but I never let that stop me from buying a car I like. I would get a Camaro if some things on it were different.

We all have our Manufacturing preference. I just feel like if you can't accept the good with the bad than you really lose out on a lot.

There is no doubt in my mind that cadillac is reestablishing itself as the top luxury company in the world. the XTS will be a class leading vehicle that should put the 7 series to shame. the biggest thing cadillac has to combat is........ Public opinion.

my dad is in the process of purchasing a new daily driver as his Cayman is slowly being turned into a full fledge track car. unfortunately he said he won't even consider a CTS-V and would much rather get the upcoming next gen M5, just because of how GM handled bankruptcy

i agree that its ugly. but i think i would enjoy being able to sit in the back seat (im 6'3) and have plenty of room to spare.

that being said i would NEVER buy the panamera when the Cadillac is just as good for half the price. although im sure the panamera has that porsche driving charm that ive become addicted to.
