This. It doesn't screw up my car exterior like sea-suckers or saris racks (over time, those WILL eat your paint), you can barely see it/not see it at all depending on the angle because it's tucked so far down there, and it sure as hell beats lifting bikes over your head. If anything, it helps to tie the chassi together more, which goes along the lines of my other suspension mods. I use a Thule T2, but the new 1up USA quick-rack something or other is a generation better. Oh yeah, I have GFX. Let me know if you want details.

I'll try to take some more pictures. This is the model (there is a seperate one for 2012 camaros, so beware): http://www.hiddenhitch.com/content/p...005&part=60266

It says it doesn't fit GFX, but you have two options. One, don't modify at all and install the towbar. It will "push up" against the GFX diffuser a little and kind of bend it a little in the middle. It's not dramatic and there's another guy on the boards that has done this. The 2nd option is to make a very small cutout on the bottom of the diffuser. I ended up making it a little bigger than necessary, but you can't tell by looking at it anyways since it's on the bottom, this allows the top of the reciever to not "bow" the diffuser at all. It's so slight that it's not noticable. The towbar went on pretty easy. Had to work the bumper facia a little, but it went on in about 30 real minutes, which is pretty darn good for any install. Instructions are decent and it seemed pretty simple.

The only real negative is I can't fold my T2 up when not in use, but it's not such a big deal because on most cars that blocks the license plate anyways and isn't quite legal. I always take it off when I'm not using it. Other racks may not have this problem. The T2 does still tilt down so I can access the trunk with the bikes on, but otherwise it is a good fit and allows me to take some of my toys where I go.

Somewhere in this thread is a pic of my race bike on my Camaro, it was $3500 and honestly I probably treat it better than my Camaro.

Very simple installation - only took 30 minutes.
That is awesome, I am gonna do that to my car too. Totally can't see it, love it.

How about you stop buying expensive cars? A Honda Civic can get you around what do you need a Camaro for? Do you see how dumb your argument is.

You may not like them but some people do like bikes or knitting or collecting coins or whatever, as much as you like cars. Different strokes.

Its just a car.

Have you tried putting the back seat down? Lots of room with it down.

Why, theyre both mass produced cars....

Its not a Ferrari, Lambo, or Aston Martin. Its a mass produced, 35K car at best, without options.

Heh. Some people on this site are really out of their mind.

However, I vote for Receiver rack. They are the best kind of rack to have period, and I think it's really the only choice for the Camaro anyway.

No.

Send us a picture of your Camaro with the bike rack and bike attached.
Those ppl say that because they know how much work is involved in fixing blemishes, and cant afford to pay someone else to fix it every time it happens.

Yup, i said it.

Investment????!!!! What investment???? NO mass produced car appreciates in value. Zip. Zero. Zilch.

The Camaro is not an investment. Wow.

Dude, roof rack that thing - then post pics and let all these old farts turn the flames on and say they would never even think of doing that to the car they have had for nearly two years now, but only have 400 miles on it because they only drive it on cruise night (weather permitting) to Ole Bob's Dinner Sock-Hop. After my GTO got totaled by some idiot girl I learned these things are just metal and you better enjoy them because you never know when they are going to leave you...yes, even you guys who keep them in the garage 365...one good storm and that tree comes crashing down on your garage, poof, camaro gone...

"Paint was not more durable back in the day" - that sh*t faded, most lacked a real clear coat, it didnt have as many paint layers for protection, not to mention not nearly as environmentally friendly...do some research before you post
Sock hop, ROFL, nice.
