Two things. Yesterday I installed a rear view mirror /w rear cam & then had to re-hardwire the radar detector. This afternoon I cleaned up both the Camaro and C6. Record today for the number of people who stopped and had questions. I got asked if I would sell the C6 (absolutely no way) and a few people who are wanting to buy a C6 sometime in the near future. Only one thumbs up for the Camaro, so it was the Corvette people were wanting to discuss today.

It's been quite the undertaking. Just slowly chiseling away at it.

Hope to be back out and rolling in the spring!

First thing I noticed when I pulled my C5 into the garage was how much bigger my Z/28 was. Your pic definitely illustrates the size difference.

HUD Install

Finished up my heads-up display install today. Sourced the projector, bezel, and switch from a salvage yard in South Carolina and used Gen5DIY's standalone harness. Worked flawlessly. Had to get 5 clips from the Chevrolet dealership so I could bolt on the projector on the underside of the dash. The clips were over $10 a piece Apparently, they're pretty hard to come by. I didn't have any luck anywhere else besides eBay which would've ended up being more expensive after shipping. Very happy with the result. It was an intimidating job, but it really wasn't that bad.

I can eat a filet minon off that engine 1JEWLDSSRS even though I'm suppose to take it easy on the red meat.

That is hilarious Joe lol! Just make it a 6 oz instead of an 8 oz haha. I am sure Wayne has all the proper clean up supplies.

What kind of radar detector is that? Looks like you've got it hidden really nicely.

You did a good job.

I have considered just buying the 2013 dash with hud and leather. It's on my loooooong list of to-do's

Living right next door to Hawks makes it easy to get OEM stuff like that.

Thank you! I'm happy with it.
Yeah, if it was more convenient for me, I might have done that and just bought a dash that was HUD-ready. It would save you the time of cutting the holes out at least and that way you'd know that the hole was cut in the right spot haha. I just didn't feel like spending the extra money on that.

Saw that you've got quite the project going on yourself

Too funny Joe!! Yeah, I do keep the engine bay as nice as the outside of her, just how it should be?? Being she sees a lot of shows and cruises. I have some friends that tease me all the time if they see even a spec of dirt on her!!

Yes sir! I have a over the shoulder soft side large cooler with quite a few cleaning and detailing products in it, along with a bag of microfiber towels to go with it.

I did that job around 2012 or 2013 w/ my first 2LT when Gen5DIY first came out w/ the kit. I remember having screws in baggies and marked. Ended up with one extra screw so I felt pretty good about it overall.

If I remember correctly the Camaro uses a different windshield for the HUD vehicles and I had some shadowing after the install.

Looks good!
