They show her the pic, and she laughs and says "That's my mom's new car!"
The girls said "OMG! That's the Camaro? Your mom is so lucky!!"

Cool, except kinda weird to think people are taking pics when I'm driving and I don't even know about it. lol

No kidding, I am starting to see this as a pattern every day or two. Yesterday on the weay to works about two miles out and sitting at a stop light. The light turns green I start to go and I notice the guy in the oppisinte turning lane at the light with his hand extended my way. As I get close and pass I see he has is cell in his hand.

I also wonder is how many times that happens and we just miss it ...

Definitely weird. As popular as my Accord was, I never caught anyone doing that!!

Classic stories.... I love it..

Karen, now I wonder if the girls your daughter doesn't care for will try to be more friendly with the girl whose Mom has the really cool car...

MightyT... on my way home from work earlier this week there was a younger kid, maybe 20ish (man I am starting to age calling a 20 something younger... I'm 37 by the way) was so determined to get alongside of me that he was weaving around behind me trying to get in a lane he could get a side view from, when he finally did he was staring so friggin hard that he almost noticed too late that traffic was jamming up in front of us and he almost buried himself into the rear end of a delivery van. I also had a guy in a 6 banger Mustang determined as all hell to pass me on the interstate this morning and when he finally did, he slowed down.... what an arsehole....

Last night had a guy come to the house to pick up a piece of exercise equipment he bought from me off of Ebay, I popped open the garage door and he went accompanied by an "AAAAAAAOOOOOOOOGAAAA"... dude took a half hour talking about the car, turned out to be a huge Chevy guy, was a cool conversation....

The best one I have is over the holidays I was taking a quick local drive to a store and saw my sister's husband coming the opposite way and he had his 10 year old son in the passenger seat. As I got closer to him I saw him tap my nephew on the shoulder and then point at me. My brother-in-law has not been over the house since I got the car and he also thinks I make an ungodly amount of money but I know he and my sister combined make more than I and my wife do but I just manage my money better and he is, simply put, a putz... So I have had to hear the "well if I had HIS kind of money I'd be able to get a car like that too" crap from time to time when in reality, his kind of money is more than my kind of money. Well I called my sister later in the day and mentioned I saw the two of them and waved but didn't think my "brother" recognized me in the car, she told me that my nephew told her "Daddy and me were driving along and Daddy whacked me and said 'hey look at the really cool car', I told him, yeah, that's Uncle Robert, he took me for a ride in that car last week". I don't plan on giving my "brother" a ride in the car

I love the stories, Robert.

I know what you mean about people thinking you have a lot of money. I saw one of my neighbors in the diner one day and he commented about my car. He said "Wow, nice new car Karen! Must be nice to have money!" I hate that.

Same here...one of the bosses (but not my direct boss) at work asked if I was a prostitute on the side. Forgive me if I am good at managing my money!

Yeah no kidding ... I'd like to respond with, "Yep, when you work hard, save and make right decisions, maybe you too can have Camaro ... if not there's always a Ford Fiesta"

Maybe it's just that the Camaro looks a lot more expensive than it is?

Yep... These are the same people that buy a couple packs of smokes a day, a handful of lotto tickets and a starbucks ..... Then they wonder why they can't afford a nice ride..... The wife and I are considering getting a second one next year, and getting rid of our kid hauler ....

My car before the Camaro was the kid hauler, but we still have my hubby's Tahoe and my daughter is almost 18 and has her own car, so it's not as necessary to have my car be the primary family car. But the 4 of us do fit in the Camaro if necessary.

You nailed it with that one... it is funny, my wife even mocks me because I still wear clothes that I have had for more than a decade, buy my socks and dress pants at Walmart, eat store brand corn flakes, and bag my lunch for work. I simply open the garage door and say "so you can haul the kids around in that (brand new Chrysler Town & Country) and I can rip around in that (the 2SS) and we can live in the house that is attached to the garage that those are in", she just rolls her eyes and walks away. Then my siblings get all "class envy" on me despite my sister always having a Starbucks in her hand regardless of what time of day it is, the brother-in-law who spends 20 bucks a day eating out for lunch at work and the two of them vacation five times a year, and the other brother who every time I call him he is packing to go on another cruise to the friggin Bahamas. Do what you want with your money but don't go pissin' and moanin' and get all jealous over the car I drive. And the real kicker that pisses them off is that I have a single income household and four kids (even though the wife does work a few days a week for the church it is to get her out of the house to maintain sanity).

Both my brother and sister married into their first houses, never had a mortgage, they kinda forgot about that part I guess.

Rant over but I so want the day to come when I call them out and ask everyone to lay their past decade of tax returns on the table and shut everyone up about "my kind of money"

And it really tweaks them that out of the three of us, I'm the youngest

I can totally relate to that. I had a girl at work tell me after she saw my Camaro that they must be paying me too much, welllllll I do have a college degree and she works in housekeeping (?) Also, like you guys all said, I just know how to manage my money. My house is paid for, 3 cars paid for including my SUV, my husband's Grand Prix and my son's Explorer (Not the Camaro though....yet!) We even had an inground pool put in this summer which is also paid for. We do NOT have six figure incomes, we just save for what we want and make sacrifices where we can. That's the way it goes. PRIORTIZE people!

Also, I am the only sibling in my family that graduated college AND the only one who has a full time job! You get out of life what you put into it.....that's all I'm saying.
