On the really long drive part, DONT USE THE CRUZE CONTROL... that is all.. You will want to vary the speeds

Your break-in period ends once you left off the key when you start the car the first time. There is no 750 mile limiter or any of that. I think you are confusing things a bit there maybe?

I just hit 3500 miles and i did not do the break in period.. I just drove it like i normally would no high revs and no hard stops and no faster than 80 or slower than 45.. Let me tell this car feels different then when i first got it responds different.. I don't know what happen but the camaro is feeling good.

My break in method is obviously the correct one... :-) 500-800 miles, take it pretty easy. Don't lug it, no hard lauches, vary speeds. Then I do a break in oil change. (this one ruffles feathers) Then up to about 1500, pretty normal, but no runs to the drag strip. Occassional hard acceleration (sets the rings) and hard deceleration (Sucks more oil up into the head) Still avoid long stretches at one speed. After 1500, I really just drive it normal. (But still would avoid the strip until about 2500 miles) Oil changes at normal intervals. The first 500 is the killer. After that, really no worries, just don't beat her. And I'm still a fan of the break in oil change. Also won't go to synthetic blend until about 10k miles to ensure engine parts are fully worn in. Synthetics can nearly stop your engine wear dead in it's tracks so you don't want to do it too early. If I'm right, someone that knows more than I do will correct me. If I'm wrong, someone that knows less than me will correct me. |

I got mine new with 300 miles on it (2013), so I really have no idea how those first 300 miles went. My break-in consists of driving the thing like a pack of zombies is chasing me.
I have a warranty for a reason. I *will* take care of all maintenance that is needed and more, but I will not baby this thing at all. |

I broke mine in according to the manual. It was tempting not to but 4000rpm, 80mph, no hard starts or stops is fun. Now at almost 7000 I've got a real rocket sled and no problems at all.
