Drag tips (stock lt1 m6)
I'm going out to the track in january to see what the best time i get on the 1/4 and i wanted to know what is the best rpm to shift at. I have a stock lt1 with a 6spd im seeing what my best time is so when i put mods on i can see how much they lowered my time.

I believe that the powerband is at 6400 for the 2010-2011 and 6900 for the 2012. Correct me if i'm wrong.

I'd shift it at 8500.

Your power peak is around 5700 on a stock lt1. Car will run fastest shifting at 64-6500. I spun mine to 6800 when I had it (heads/cam), but that's certainly pushing the stability limit of the 2 bolt main lt1 bottom end and pink rods. It eventually spun a bearing.
That car, back in 2004. |

Hell I dont remember mine making much after 6K rpms, I think I shifted it around 6-6200. But you never know, its going to take a few runs to figure out what the car likes. But who knows maybe I was under shifting it then That was a long time ago!

My 97 liked to be shifted around 5800rpm. Peak torque on those LT1's stock was 2400rpm and they really started to die off after 6000rpm in stock form.

You should always shift after peak power. 5-600 rpms after keeps your avg hp the highest.
