I ran across a relatively recent thread with Scott Settlemire discussing why there is a lack of info right now. He also hints at engine choices...at least-he assures us that there will NOT be 3 engine choices. More or Less, but not three

I do believe you should see the car in person before judging it

I can assure you that the public at large does not share your view. Granted, there are those that don't like it......but frankly, we'll never....nor will any other manufacturer......ever build a car or truck that everyone loves.

I've never seen a car get this much attention.........any car. Period. (and I go to a LOT of auto shows......) <evilgrin>

You can be assured that when this car is built, it WILL plant "an old man's ass" to the back of the seat. (remember....we said '400 hp'...and we all know that the last 4th gens had horsepower a good deal north of the advertised 325 hp........)

oh......one more thing: Did I happen to mention "class leading acceleration and overall performance??" as part of the 'recipe' for the new Camaro?????

I also found another quote of his that said the Camaro has to be priced within 200 dollars of the Mustang, but it looked real doctored up, and there was no link to the original post. I therefore didn't post it due to credibility issues.

Back to Scott, though. I find this INCREDIBLY intersting:

is this a hint that, even though they say 400, it'll be "a good deal north of the advertised..." I'm not an old man - but I definitely want my ass planted to the back of the seat.

The "class" includes such cars as Mustang, Challenger, Mitsubishi Eclipse, Mazda MX-5, Nissan 350Z, GTO, Solctice, Sky, Scion TC, among others...

Guys, GM is really gonna blow the faces off of the competition. All doubters read this, They're taking their time to GET IT RIGHT! This will be a Camaro to remember.

I think this is the biggest thing to pay attention to. Scott and Bob Lutz have said this on several occassions and they have backed it up with their actions,for example the Camaro going into production.

Scott has never steered us wrong, and has always been upfront with what information he can share with us.

The reason we haven't heard from him much is he's a very busy man, and, he just took a much deserved vacation.

Nice note from fbodfather. If as he says ( hope he is listening) the "diciples know what we want" I hope they know that, (OK I'll admit it I'm anal) most of us want the rear windows TO ROLL DOWN! A little exrta support weight can be done. New FED roof laws pending might just work ( maybe) in our favor.
