Exactly, it's all about the experience to me. I'm not a professional driver and am not competing to win anything, so I could care less about these new super fast shifting transmissions if they don't offer the same level of involvement, control, and most importantly the fun factor of a 6-speed manual.

That's what it's all about to me. Flipping paddles or moving a lever into drive is just not my idea of fun, regardless of how much faster it it.

M6 for me, but I still think there should be a choice. My Trailblazer SS only came with an auto and it sucked.

There was spy shots of the SC A6, which I guess was a ZL1?

Totally agree! There's nothing like getting scratch from 1st to 2nd. Then speed shifting and getting scratch again from 2nd to 3rd. Those moments make the disadvantages of a manual worth it. For me.

Scratch? At almost 600HP the ZL1 should light em' up at both 1-2 & 2-3!

Unless you miss a gear, which wouldn't happen with the A6!

Sorry, just had to say it!

It's kind of funny the things we seem to forget...many moons ago...the populace here would have considered that image as pure gospel on the existence of an A6 ZL1...I guess we've learned a thing or two since then...

I'd really be torn if an A6 was brought on-line. After having an A4 '02 Z28 with a mild stall converter, I have to say that it was VERY adicting to romp on the gas. Knowing that there's probably not a more cost effective mod' for an auto' car, I'd REALLY consider a good multi-disc converter. Shoot, this side of nitrous (which I'm not interested in), $1000 worth of converter, I'm sure, would net a mountain of gain over LTs, CAI, a pulley, and other bolt-ons.

This would definately make a difficult decision Please make it difficult, GM

I HOPE GM REMEMBERS THAT TEST MULE TOO. Seriously, if that wasn't an A6 ZL1... then what was it?!
