Does anyone have a write up? BMR says this will cure my front ride height issues w/ the 1.4" springs. I searched on here long enough. thanks.

Step 1. Pull the car up on to a drive uplift.
Step 2. Loosen the following bolts/nuts: Front: ---Inner Control Arm Bushing ---Inner Radius Rod Rear: ---Trailing Arm Bushings (both ends) ---Toe Rod Bushings (both ends) ---Lower Control Arm Bushings (Inner) ---Upper Control Arm Bushings (Rearward) ---Lower Strut Bushings Step 3. Grab the subframes or sway bars, and jounce the car up and down a few times. Step 4. Tighten all of the nuts/bolts to spec. Step 5. Align the car at the new ride height. Definatley needed. Although I've already had my bushings timed we need a good thread to point people to.

Very useful, thank you! Can you please include the torque specs for the bolts/nuts when re-tightening?

These bolts all need to be tight. They are all 'hardened'. The ferules the bolts pass through are robust. The German torque standard should be used. Gudentight. Getting a torque wrench into some of the spots while aligning the car just doesn't happen. The tech is using a wrench on each end of the fastner and watching the computer reading while tightening. Crank them down until you feel the metal bed and give it another grunt or two. If you think they are tight enough, grunt again and you are good to go.

Is this something that has to be done after lowering or if you have problems? |
