That should be fine, are you no longer using the sub output on the 900/5?

Well, if you run much more than a 1200/1 to them you'll have a hard time getting them to warranty the 12w6's if you beat on them.

Now my next question
Are running both amps going to require upgrading the alternator or anything else?

JL Audio says I would need to ?

(From JL Audio) Hello Tim, you could actually add another 12W6v3 on the amplifier you have now. You will gain output just by adding another subwoofer. Your vehicle will definitely require upgrades if you choose to add HD1200/1. The Big 3 and alternator will need to be upgraded. I would try adding the second subwoofer and this alone will give you more bass even on 500 watts. You could also try using a ported enclosure which would then give you even more output on the same power.
Sincerely,
Eric Cole

+1. I have a stock alternator in my car, but I did upgrade the battery. Class D amps are a lot more efficient as well, so I'd say you'll probably be fine with the stock alt. The stock battery in the Camaro is pretty big, so you'll probably be fine with it also. I would personally just use the stock battery until I saw dimming headlights after the HD1200/1 goes in.
