I ignored it because my post was a direct response to his post. Both my post and his post didn't look at the whole picture. That was sort of the point

Either way you look at it, the CTS-V is in the same market segment as the M3, price and car type wise. The CTS-V outperforms the M3 either way you look at it.
And where did I argue otherwise?

and you with the difference price between it and the M5, you can probably do this and still have cash leftover.

810rwhp CTS-V

Nice job GM on bringing a comparable car to the market for a lot less.

Comparing a vehicle over $25K more against a CTS-V. It's obviously you don't like anything American, so why are you here?

You're blowing it out of context. I don't think those tests are completely invalid. I do however think that the tests conducted by engineers, if they are legitimate, are the most important.

Sorry, what car are we talking about here? The M3 or M5? And this question about why I am here has been asked a million times. Why, does my German fanboism really get under your skin

Well we were talking about the M3 until...

It doesn't get under my skin. You're just another example that prove being a fanboy is stupid.

So you justified the GT-R being a better car around the track, because of "bang for your buck." Price doesn't win races, price wins consumers.

Yep, I'm stupid because I made a variety of liable arguments as to why we all shouldn't hail the CTS-V just yet, none of which you refuted.

Man, this thread is entertaining and amusing but going nowhere.
Come on, let's be honest for a second and get to reality and post again. I love the SS but, I have to accept that there are other cars worth more because they deliver more. Simple. Even if it wins by a hair, it still wins. Period.
If you pay more for an item you should expect to get more in return. Granted, there are exceptions out there but, very few times you see a manufacturer claiming more than what it is just because it would be idiotic and fool to do so. Not to mention that their reputation would go down the drain. Now, before you go further into more posts, here is a Cadillac quote I like... "When you start your car (something like that) ...does it return the favor" I bet that the new CTS-V would.
Anyways, back to the M3 vs SS topic.

I'm sorry, you are confusing me with this flip flop. So, price does or doesn't matter?

I refuted every single one of them. You just gave up on comparing two vehicles in the same price, market segment (CTS-V vs. M3), and you decided to just throw a dramatically more expensive vehicle into the comparison. Your argument was that the M5 was going to be better, and which I said it should be considering the $25K price difference. However, until the new M5 is released, the current CTS-V is a lot better value and performer than the current M5.

"Liable" means responsible for, or association under the law...I believe the term you were searching for was "valid"...
