I saw that earlier today as well. If that number is true, then that means that SSX equipped cars will probably be at least as fast or faster around the track compared to stock Z/28s, but I bet they will cost more when it's all said and done. Keep in mind that with all the carbon fiber and the other weight reduction, this car will probably weight 200-300 lbs less than a stock SS.

As for the 524 HP number, that seems too high for just a cam, tuning, and exhaust upgrade. With those parts, I would guess the numbers would be closer to 426 + 50 (30 HP for cam & 20 HP for tune and exhaust) = 476 HP.

Edit: I remember reading something about new revised aluminum heads as well. So I could definitely see a motor with more aggressive heads/cam/intake manifold making an easy 100 HP over stock SS.

Either way, this is a very cool product and I sure hope it is a hit.

Does anybody have any guesses (legitimate, based on facts like the cost of other track packages that have been offered before and such, not just wild guesses) on what the price of this package might cost on top of a Camaro SS?

Nice car & wheels, ugly wing ! Is this SSX package going to be a production option or add on ?

It depends on how crazy they went with the cam. If they don't have to worry about it being streetable (or emissions legal), they can go pretty crazy.

Price, I wouldn't expect it to be any less than 70k.
