I just registered and commited to Camaro Superfest June 30 - July 3
Had to make plans for the summer. Hopefully the dates for Camarofest, when announced, will be during a time that will work for me too.

I don't understand the big secret unless a date hasn't even been secured. I fortunately can get most times off work so it's not a big deal to me but I do think the turnout will be very underwelming for whatever big plans that they do have in the works.

'MAYBE', just 'maybe', GM is getting ready to announce a new concept car representing the new performance Camaro, and the committee is working with GM on the possibility of revealing it at this years Camarofest, but they have to work out the details of the reveal with GM such as the reveal date?
One can only hope. |

It takes a lot to get an event like this ready. Prep work should have started shortly after the last one ended. It always makes for a better event if there is input from attendees of previous events and potential attendees for the new event. Does not seem like that was done or even thought of. Once a date has been selected, as a courtesy to attendees, there should be ample time for those coming to make plans. If this is really going to happen (and I doubt it) and be a great event, I would guess it should not take place for at least 1-2 months after the date has been selected. My thoughts are that it cannot happen in March or and April.
Look at the Corvette Museum Website for some examples. There are at least 25-30 events on that calendar for the rest of the year, some put on by the museum and other by local clubs across the country. Largest Corvette show in country (15,000+) is at Mid-America Motorworks in Effinghan, Ill. and those dates are published 1 year ahead of time. It takes planning AND communications. |

Wow, so i'm not the first to chime in on this wait and how it's negated my attendance after planning and saving for it this year no less but some of what i've heard makes me wanna say take a year off and relax you deserve it.
They don't do this with Camaro5.com funds you guys the mods the guys that don't get paid for the most part on this site do it for the fun of the community and wether you realize that or not they probably overextended themselves this time. I can agree with many when i say i'm a little dissapointed in these developments but i can also attest to the mine field organizing an event like this requires you to navigate. You can have 10 people working on this event but only 1 or 2 people taking it seriously and that's usually the two with the least open authority to make decisions somehow.
