Has anybody had their V6 LFX brake fluid cap leaking?

I`d like to get a Dorman gasket but I can`t put my Aussie car in the drop down box. So don`t know the part number for a 2012 V6 LFX USA car.

I've had two V6 Camaros and the cap leaked on both. I ended up making my own gasket with some rubbery sheets I had lying around (the kind of sheets you'd use for a shoe mat, know what I mean?). Just cut out a ring-shaped gasket to fit in the cap and has been fine since.

I might try that.
The OEM gasket has a slit and the Dorman does not.
So the ring gasket you made makes sense.

I had this issue as well and had the dealership replace the entire reservoir and cap, at my expense. The leaking brake fluid bubbled the paint under the reservoir, onto the outer wheel well inside the engine compartment. Dealership blamed an aftermarket billet cap I had installed that contained the OEM gasket, so it is interesting that others have had this problem. I am facing an additional $300 cost to repaint the wheel well area under the hood.

Had mentioned it to the service advisor last time I took my car in for another issue all they did was wipe down the brake fluid and said they didn’t see a issue.

Tried the mod of adding a piece of plastic cut out to fit inside the cap it still leaked.

Replaced the gasket still leaked.

Bought aftermarket cnc’d aluminum brake reservoir cap it’s been over a year no more leaking.

Just had to replace ours, brake fluid was weeping out continuously. Bought the cap with the gasket from the local Chevy dealer; they couldn't get just the gasket I was told. The OEM gasket appeared fine, as does the top of the brake fluid reservoir.

Mind started to leak in my 2011 1SS/RS a year after I got it. I took the rubber gasket out of the resivor. Got me a empty milk bottle and traced the rubber gasket on the bottle, cut it out put both pieces back in the resivor screwed the cap back on and has not leaked or been replaced since 9 years.

Didn't cost me a penny. And a lot of guys I know did this to.
