Just found a cool trick I can do with the Driver Information Center of the Camaro. (What did you think this thread was going to be about anyway?)

Press the menu button and cycle through until you find the miles / litres per gallon display.

Press and hold the reset button while you accelerate and shift through gears (manual).

The liters / miles per gallon indicator will change in real time, showing you just how much gas you are using up as you press the accelerator and change gears.

I am using this to learn how to to save gas when taking off from a stationary position, and how much gas I save by coasting where possible. Cool!

Ha ha... I know that was you from the other thread..lol

^^ that's pretty sweet.

just curious... if you're using your left hand to hold the reset, right hand to shift, left leg to shift, and right leg to go...

how are you steering? your teeth?

Well, I'd assume you'd have your forearm through the steering wheel. Maybe that way?

Of course, I steer and shift with the same hand all the time while driving. I like to put my left arm out the window. I just steer until I need to shift, let go of the wheel and shift quickly, then grab it again. Not something I'd do while flooring it though.

Heh.

Then again, I've been driving for over 6 years and I've never been in an accident - and thats not for lack of stupid people around me trying to hit me. I've just taken numerous defensive driving classes, both classroom and on road (the evasive manuevering kind).

And like I said, I only do it when accelerating slowly. Its not like I floor it with no hands on the wheel.

i'm thinking he can hold the wheel with left hand and push the button with his middle finger... (he may be passing mustangs on the right at the same time)

that means that the mirror is 38.75% the size of the vertical windshield...
it sure seems like the ratio could be better... just sayin....

Another cool trick is, when you're flooring it in a sraight line, pull down the back seat, and pull the "open trunk" handle just as you shift to second, and the trunk monkey will come out and smack you for trying stupid shit that you read on the internet in your brand new $40,000 camaro!
