good pic or dimension of NON-auto-dim inside mirror?

edit
See OUR collective solution here: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...205#post526205

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've got a auto-dim mirror that is a view-hog and want to replace it (has onstar)

has anybody got a clear pic of a NON auto dim ( in a 2010 camaro) or maybe even a dimension from top to bottom?

thanks all!

Windshield=10" vertical
mirror= 3 7/8" (that's almost 4") vertical
that means that the mirror is 38.75% the size of the vertical windshield...
it sure seems like the ratio could be better... just sayin....

I think the rear view mirror in the cabin is smaller if it does not have auto dim (not sure though)

The insider rear view mirror on the 1LT and 2SS CTFs I have are the same. The only difference is the sensor on the front side.

The picture posted by slick rick is a different mirror than what is on either of the two cars in the garage.

Perhaps a production change to address the visibility issue. This was covered in another thread earlier. In that thread I poo pooed the issue, although the mirror in the photo above would be better for those that want an improvement.

So I don't know if the non-auto dimming mirror is now smaller in production.

I have a 1LT here that was built 4-27-09 according to its Chassis Rider (buildsheet), and I can get you a dimension from it later this evening when my wife returns home with the car. Mine looks just like the one in the picture above. As suggested, maybe there is a "running change" and that probably should be docuemented to which cars got a smaller mirror. I know that I do not like the mirror w/o the auto dimming feature as the lever to "flip" it to dim on the car I have is a pain in arse to reach while driving. In this day and age auto dimming mirrors should be standard on any car as it would be one less thing for the driver to worry about...........RatPack...............

No they should not be standard.. because they suck.

Try it out in the Texas hill country with a guy in a F350 on your ass and no street lights with rolling hills. After your eye's are blinded then it kicks in (they are too slow).

I don't think there will be a difference between the 1SS and 2SS (or 1LT and 2LT), they both still have the onstar built in.... maybe the LS mirror would be different? Or does it still have OnStar and just not come with the service?
