ADM Scoop difference?!
So I installed my Cold Air Inductions CAI, and didn't even know about the scoop. Does it really make that much of a difference?? I know I would have to relocate the washer, which looks pretty straight forward, but is it worth it to get the scoop?

I say do it.....a minimal hp gain, but every bit helps, and if you get 6hp for the price of the scoop, it's not to bad of a deal...

I you look at the before an after air space that the washer bottle is blocking you'll realize there is no way it can't be a big help.
The first pic shows the area clogged with a washer bottle. Very little if any air getting in. The next two show the big whole for air. Then realise that you cut an area on the inside of the grill for the scoop to grab air and direct it towards the intake.

Thanks for the pics caverman, I guess it would make sense to get one then and move the bottle.

Moving the bottle is a requirement, correct? So is breaking out the dremel and cutting a hole.

Yes.
The scoop goes basically right where the washer bottle is. It even uses the bolt location of where the washer bottle's bolt is. You'll also need to use something (dremel usually) to cut a section of plastic right behind the grill. This is where the front opening of the scoop will pick up air from.

Disassembling the front end of your car is not necessary for this install. It was done to the car in the photos because it was having other modifications being done and it made for better pictures. |

i understand its only a 6 hp gain, but does the tune need to be tweaked at all or is it just install and good to go?
