Agree, people don't get that Shelby is a culture, not a car, hence the prices. However, it is great that that upsell makes $$ = R&D for the Ford Racing parts bin. GT 5.0 guys gotta love the SC the they just saw..... coming soon to a dealer near you.

very true. And that price tag isn't just competing with other mustangs either, mid 60's can get you an M3 or CTS-V, a few grand more and you're looking at Z06's and GTR's. The people that buy these want a Shelby.

You have to understand, you are not buying a Mustang..you are buying a Shelby Automotive Mustang. The people who buy this car are buying a piece of history. The same way that the people way back in the 60's did.

Sure you could buy a Z06 or a Viper...but in 10~20 years what would those cars be worth ? What would a autograph Shelby be worth. Now as a car collector, which would you buy ?

And for hundreds of thousands of dollars, I'd rather buy a house and a considerable amount of land in the Grand Tetons than a 1600sq ft house in Malibu. Again, Shelby Automobiles is going to sell these cars to people looking to buy a genuine Shelby. They are not looking to win anybody over to their team.

what good is it to collect a car if it depreciates every time you drive it?

Like i've always said. I'd rather enjoy my cars than just have them site in a garage collecting dust.

And for the price, history isn't worth it.

That, it does. Alone...to me...it's not very good. But when put next to the original, ehhh...things start to take shape. I think this car is for the Shelby purist foremost.

Really, I'm sorry. It just doesn't do much for me. You all can ostracize me from the site for not liking a mustang.

Oh, wait.......
