It finally happened...

Some a-hole parked into me at a football game and ran away. :(

What is the best way to remove this? Should I go to the dealership? I've only had this car for 3000 miles :(

Eck!! Sorry to hear/see that!

It looks like it's only on the composite bumper cover, it should be easy enough to touch-up. At least there's no dent, right?

Yeah, no dent. I know how to touch up in theory but I've never done it before. Any tips? It seems pretty involved having to wait 15-20 minutes for every coat.

Well, the dealer (you asked earlier) won't cover it under warranty or anything like that...it's not a defect but damage. And the repair bill for that is likely less than your insurance deductible...so unless you want to spend money on a professional....

But the dealer can sell you touch up paint...and you follow the instructions on the bottle and some good common sense (like don't poke wet paint).

If you want to do it right...you do it in steps and be patient. I'm no expert, either -- you could talk to one of your detailers on the site, or I'm sure someone will poke their head in here with some better advise.

Someone did this to me, too. I'm working on it.

Trust me when I say not to order 57U Cyber Gray Metallic spray paint from your dealer's parts department.

Here is my plan of action.

Ordered http://www.automotivetouchup.com/tou...t_matched.aspx
http://www.automotivetouchup.com/tou...clearcoat.aspx
http://www.automotivetouchup.com/sto...p_solvent.aspx
and http://www.automotivetouchup.com/sto..._compound.aspx

And will follow these instructions loosely.

Will post pics after I do them.
