Amen!!!!

Gas will hit $5.00 a gallon, we will all have to cut back on what we buy and the dealers that want over MSRP will still have their cars sitting with dust. DON'T pay a mark up, just wait a few months. Heck I would not even pay MSRP myself, but that's me. I paid invoice for my so called low production car. 5k off sticker.

I think we can all agree with your point, and know that having patience will allow one to buy the car at a price they are willing to pay. What makes me mad are the folks who cry foul at the folks who have the means to buy the car they want today versus having to wait it out to get it at the price they can afford.

Thanks guys!!! I appreciate the feedback. I think I may put it off and wait til I can get it at MSRP. I know its a great car but I guess saving $7500.00 is worth the the wait. My ego isn't that big...

I'd talk to one of the dealers on here, like BeckyD@Rodgers Chevrolet and have them drop ship it to your local dealer. You know you'll get a great deal from her...

Yep. How much is it worth to you to be first? The reality is that whenever you get the ZL1 you won't see many around.

I think I still know where one is in oregon at msrp. Then try to arrange for courtesy deliver to chevy delership in HI.

I don't want to be rude or anything or act like a search nazi but there are still alot of MSRP cars availible if you just search this forum you will find many of them.

all the oregon dealers wanted 5-10k initially so I ordered out of AR. it is costing me $300 to have it delived to albany, or as opposed to AR.

Of course after all this went down then I get a call from a local dealership that is willing to go MSRP. ha ha. they are buildign enough of them that paying over MSRP I just don't think is nesseary unless you are just the type of person $7500 is meaningless.

It's funny, the margin on a car, even one like the ZL1, is probably not nearly as high as one might think it is; for the manufacturer or the dealership. The margin on a big-screen TV is huge, but you see people walking out of HH Gregg or BestBuy thinking they negotiated a great deal because they got a few hundred off the MSRP.
I know that that technology at BestBuy and HH Gregg is already a few years old but they charge current year prices, the technology is even older at a place like Walmart. The best place I've seen is Amazon, when I bought my TV from them it was a good $1,000 less than BestBuy plus no tax, free shipping and free white glove service for additional savings. (Sorry for that little rant, I hate places like BestBuy and Walmart because I know how much people get ripped off there!)

Just think of the $7,500 in accessories you can get now!

It's really your decision, but I would never pay over MSRP for any car, or any commodity for that matter. There are honest dealerships out there, but you will need to search them out. In California many of them are greedy and were asking for $10k markup, I just laughed and walked away.

I did secure the last allocation from an honest dealership in Florida and will have the car courtesy delivered from GM's factory to a dealership in California.
