Which Tires w/ ZL1 Wheels?
Hi everyone,
I hope you're enjoying browsing Camaro5 while at work. lol. Anyways, I'll be getting ZL1 wheels next week and I'm wanting to buy Pirelli P Zero's for them. Is anyone running Pirelli's on these wheels? I know most people are using the stock Goodyear's while others have Michelin Pilot Super Sport's. On a side note, I'm curious to see what you all have put on. 275's vs 285's (front) and 305's vs 315's (rear. Looking forward to the discussion.

Why do you want to stick with Pirellis? I'm just curious as my Pilot Super Sports are WORLDS better than my PZeros were.

IMO Pirelli PZero are getting a little long in the tooth. There are a lot of better, less expensive alternatives. Not to say some of the other Pirelli's are junk. I think for the performance, price and tread life . .the PSS are best bet. Also, it depends on what kind of driving you do. I have the Cooper RS3 and love em

Excellent. I haven't really thought of it like that. The P Zero's have been out for quite some time. I've had great experiences with them and am reluctant to switch, but it keeps on getting great reviews. The longer treadwear is helpful as well.
However, those of you who are on Michelin Pilot Super Sports with ZL1 wheels (10" & 11"), what size tires do you have? The different diameters of each size are throwing me off. Once you have the size, can you find some that are available? Tire Rack is saying that they are on back order. Thanks for all the help!

Now I'm seeing a lot of hate on these Michelin's while searching other threads...
Lack of availability isn't helping either.

Okay, I'm back to Pirelli's due to the Michelin's being unavailable. I don't track my car anyways. I'm more of a spirited driver. Anyways, after some research on Tire Rack, is it okay to run the following?
275/40/20 315/35/20 I normally see a gap of 30 mm on widths front to back (275-305, 285-315) so I'm a bit hesitant. The reason I picked the 315/35 is because it has the same diameter as the front at 28.7". It is also the same diameter as the OEM tires on my 2010 Camaro SS. Side note: 305/35/20 is a 28.4". Will 0.3" create a noticeable difference?

I'm lost. It looks like OEM tires are 285-305. Far off the 275-315 set-up.

I run the 275/40/20 315/35/20 set up, but with Nittos. No issues at all, just had to pull the slack out of the E break cable so it wouldn't rub.

If you are planning on going to the track, leave the Michelin's at home, they suck when hot......

I run a 275/315 setup with Toyo proxes. Can't tell you about track use but I have done some very spirited driving and cruises with them and they hold up great, have twice the tread depth of most of the competition, and best of all have the most aggressive tread pattern ever.

The other manufacturers have the 315/275 sizes, but I'm not sure why they don't make 305/285 other than demand. BMW, MB and other cars use the 315's and 275's a lot more. My $.02 worth. -Tony |

I have 275/40s on the front and 315/35s in the back on 20x10 fronts and 20x11 rears. They are Nitto Invos but have had no issues at all.
