Okay at the risk of sounding dumb.... I've heard this "fuse pulling" often when referring to stock..... So my question is, what fuse, what are the benefits/drawbacks?

The fuse is for the dual exhaust flaps on the ZL1.
Pulling the fuse keeps the flaps open all the time.
Just sounds nicer.
There are no real hp benefits.
You can pull the fuse or by a mild to wild exhaust remote switch.

FYI the "flaps" are open at idle and WOT. So the fuse pull really only has an effect on cruising.

I went with Billy Boat, still keeps the dual mode exhaust. Full 3inch and 4in tips!

corsa, borla, billy boat, stainless power asll have them

the corsa and borla will be the loudest with factory cats in place.

bola is the best sound IMO but will drone, corsa comes in second but drones less.

billy boat is a good option if you ditch the cats you can quiet it back down. Stainless power sound great with headers some have had fitment issue.

I am going to do phadt tri-y's to start with the facotry exhaust.

honeslty there are some many sound clips on youtube you can get a rough idea of many of these. I had drivin cora, BB, borla all on vett's. the borla gets the most compliments but the stingers drone. the corsa gets real wicked at WOT but the tone at idle is a bit odd.

if you want screaming WOT but minimum drone on the hwy with factory cats in place the Corsa system will be the best option. I hated the way my Z06 sounded at idle with the Corsa though. switched to the borla but then had to turn the radio up do drown out the drone at the wrong RPM. the borla just sounded wicked everwhere. people would flag me down and ask what exhaust I was runing once a week.

1- The aftermarket cat back systems DO NOT make more power than the stock.

3- Will wake the dead at WOT.
4- Power increase w/o cats.

Not sure what a "PITA with emissions" is......Louisiana here.
But u can reinstall the cats very easily if needed for a emission inspection.
a 3" aftermarket cat-back should theoretically make more power than a 2.5" stock especially on a modded ZL1. You are stating your opinions like they are facts without providing any physical proof of any testing you have done, I hope you don't end up misleading anyone here.

I have what I call NPP +2. It is another pipe tucked in on both sides but not visible unless you look under the car. The additional pipes have a flange pre rear muffler with a shut off valve operated via remote. So total there are the 4 NPP+2 hidden outlets. I'll shoot a pic if anyone is interested in the set up. It is not crazy loud and nice when cruising the freeway when the wife is in the car, I can just close them up and run regular NPP.

Ceramic coated Kooks, Cat delete, fuse pull. Been seriously thinking about Billy Boat exhaust this spring as well.

We should start a sticky that has the exhaust sounds of different set-ups for other members to listen too.

What reasonable gains can you see with the headers?
