Camaro Standard Pricing: 1LS = $23,200 2LS = $24,400 1LT = $25,200 2LT = $28,350 1SS = $31,850 2SS = $35,450 Mustang Standard Pricing: V6 = $22,310 or $890 Lower than Camaro 1LS V6 Premium = $26,310 or $1,110 More than Camaro 1LT or $2,040 Lower than Camaro 2LT GT = $29,710 or $2,140 Lower than Camaro 1SS GT Premium = $33,710 or $1,740 Lower than Camaro 2SS Boss 302 = $40,310 and No Direct Comparo with Current Camaro Models (Hint Z28 or 1LE Could Fill This Void Effectively at $42,000 Base Pricing) Shelby GT500 = $48,810 and The Direct Competition to Camaro ZL1 The Mustang on Rough Average is $1,140 Less Than Camaro based on Starting Price Only. I would expect Camaro ZL1 to Start at No More Than $2,000 above Shelby GT500 Pricing. That puts ZL1 at $50,810 but I also would include a little additional for inflation and the fact that the new Shelby will Inevitably Cost More than the Current Model. I'd Say $52,000 with No options and $65,000+ Loaded. If it starts at $57,000 or $60,000 than Chevy Came in way over Shelby by the Price of an Entire Chevrolet Sonic. |

You can add $12,000 in Options to a Shelby GT500, I would expect The ZL1 WILL be that way at Some Point As Well in the Future. |

We are not talking about the future!! We are talking about the price to be released in the Present! Very few options. Wheels, sun roof, exposed cf hood insert, stripe package, auto, sueded micro wheel and shift knob. That's it.

I just built a Cadillac CTS-V coupe and it was $69,890 mildly optioned. Take in to consideration that this is not a Caddy and the need to compete somewhat with the four letter "F" word (Ford). I think Base will sadly start at $57,000

My .02 cents
ZL1 with no options, MSRP $51,500 ZL1 with A6 , MSRP $53,500 ZL1 with sunroof, A6, CF hood, suede, and option wheels $62,500 ZL1 with sunroof, M6, CF hood, suede, and option wheels $60,500

Best place to start would be the CTS-V coupe pricing.
Compare the two cars, what are the differences? CTS-V has a more expensive platform to begin with, engine is basically the same, but the ZL1 might have more performance hardware elsewhere. |

Can't we all agree that the A6 really is a: 6 SPEED MANUAL TAPSHIFT (no clutch needed, but "tap" required!, therefore, "MANUAL") In my expert opinion (haha) The TAPSHIFT Qualifies and a Manual Shift! Let's hear it for NO LEFT FOOT REQUIRED!! (I also assume you can tap it down from 4th to 2nd with a quick double tap, thusly eliminating the stick as being more flexible)...... And, from what I hear, the RPM's will match the shift points so, it will be just as smooth as letting out a clutch!! |

It's an automatic at heart, albeit brisk...with manual control optional. And you are right in your understanding of its operation. |

And just built a "F" ( that four letter word again ) GT500 fully loaded and it was $57,742. I think the ZL1 will be in this range but I will sit and wait till Monday. WOW I never thought I would wish Monday would be here and the weekend to be over.
