Got a peek at Camaro's tail lamps....
OK, how cool is this...........I just got back from loading a CAD software on this guys PC. He was doing some heat analysis on a tail lamp. So he was telling me a little about it then says "This is for the new Camaro". I thought how cool. I wasn't a big fan of the tail lamps before, but they're growing on me...(sorry no pics allowed) Don't want any Black Suburban's coming to my home...lol

Heat testing wouldn't be that big an issue with LEDs. They don't produce very much. If LEDs come out, I'd expect them from GMPP or the aftermarket. I hope they come stock, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
