Just installed supemaxx headers on l99.

First of all let me say this is a great quality product. It came with new gaskets and header bolts, unlike some other brands. Plus there was no cutting required of the stock exhaust, again unlike a some other brands.

On that note, installing these on jack stands isnt really that bad. I mostly followed the instructions but I didnt remove the spark plugs because if your not a bumbling idiot you should be able to get the header up without cracking them.

It took me about 3 hours start to finish with a few breaks here and there (it was muggy as a mofo).

My only advice is wear gloves. My hands look like a child rapists hands they have so many cuts and scratches on them. Other than that everything is pretty straight forward.

I dont know if Im digging the sound yet. I think it needs a cam.

You may reconsider the way you describe how your hands look...

Otherwise - WHERE ARE THE PICS'?

I haven't seen anything about supermaxx headers. Are they long tube and what is the size of the primaries. Did you pruchase with high flow cats and how much are they?

I'm curious to know how much horsepoer they are expected to provide too. Have you seen any dyno results?

edit:
nevermind, this is the Dynatech Supermaxx headers. I didn't realize they had another name.
Did you install high flow cats or just headers? Do you have pics of the mid/cat section?

Well if I saw my hands on someone else I would think there were child bite marks and scratches all on his hands.(btw my wife came up with that and called me pedophile hands) Ill get pics up as soon as all the grease and bits of blood and skin get cleaned off the motor. LOL.

It wouldnt be that bad with a decent adjustable ratchet, but mine broke and I was stuck with a junk plain jane craftsman with 0 leverage ability. Ill get a sound clip and pics tomorrow when I skate out of work early for court.

How much?

Where did you order them from?

What are your thoughts on quality?

Did you get with or w/o cats...

I ordered them from speedinc.com for about $1,300 with cats. They have 4 bolt flanges so you get a good seal at the collectors. Im pretty happy with them. I dont know if any other headers would make me happier? I was going to order Kooks but they said they were on back order. They are also putting them on their blown ss so I figured it would be good enough for my car.

FYI the stock l99 manifolds and cats weigh almost 25lbs each. And, I forgot to weigh the headers and highflow cats.
