New Guy
Hello guys,
My name is Chris, and I wanted to I ntroduce myself. About 8 years ago I purchased a 2000 Trans am. After owning the car for about four years I decided to move on to motorcycles. Sold the car and picked up a 2009 R1 that I was absolutely in love with until I crashed it at the track. Not a conventional 1/4 but actually road racing. The bike was totaled and I sat without anything for almost two years before I decided to purchase another motorcycle, a 2008 R6 (for more road racing of course). Crashed the R6 (I swear there isn't a pattern here) and sat back to reassess what I wanted to do for a hobby. After some talking with my better half and some spectacular salesmanship on my part, I was able to talk her into letting me purchase a 2014 1/SS this past weekend and keep the R6 The car has a few mods and the dealer told me it had been tuned at a shop. I can't get any information on any of it, so I just assume they were talking out of their ass. If anyone has information on the car I'll gladly turn an ear to ya. Purchased it in Daytona Beach  The Trans Am before I sold her :( The R1: The R6 (all back together and shiny now): And the new girl: |

Chris, Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wives', husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!!

Welcome! If you lose the car, be sure and keep that woman!
Basic mods are usually bolt on. So you may have a cold air induction, headers, exhaust, etc. I would ask the dealer which shop did the tune, they should have a record of HP/Torque, and possibly what mods were done. Enjoy your SS!! As a sidenote, a decent percentage of Camaro owners get rock chips on the doors and rear "gill" areas. My car actually got about ten in a very short amount of time. I couldn't tell from your pic, but you can install rock/splashguards behind the front tires which will prevent it, these range from $39 to $150 depending on what style you might prefer, paint protection film is another option, but is more expensive. Just thought I'd give you a heads up! Last edited by Joe M 2012 2SS; 04-04-2015 at 06:57 PM. |
