New owners...14' Spring edition 2SS, 6spd, ragtop

So...I planted a seed & it bloomed!

My name is Joe & my wifes name is Jeannine. Here's some story.
I've got a few toys, boat, jetski, motorcycle, truck, etc...
I was thinking about getting an old car. I had a few late 70's & 80's Camaro's & Trans am's F-bodies back in HS when I was a teen, into my twenties. I rode motorcycles too but they wound up always being in the garage & I really haven't had any muscle cars the past 15 years. I just turned 40. I did come home with a 97' ws6 t-top 6spd about 5 years ago but sold it a few months later since I didn't trust it & was not familiar with LT1's like the cars from my era I mentioned. Since it's hard to find a decent old muscle car where people want a lot of money for a weekend cruiser, I came up with a plan: That seed was talking my wife into trading in her Prius, giving her some money, she spend some money.....AND WE GET A NEW CAMARO!!!!!

She doesn't commute far anymore. She works 3 blocks away. Why not get a fire breathing V8???? We need fun factor. V8 Drop top with dual mode exhaust!! Hurst shifter!!! Well...all of that really didn't excite her but when I schooled her about the NY Yankee color special edition / spring edition / rare edition. She was on the hunt to find one!! We found 3 of them in Connecticut! 2 Spring editions at one dealer & one in the next town over. We live in FL. We're from NY. We haven't been back to NY for a few years & family was bugging us to come up for the holidays. Last day before heading back home, we went to see the Spring editions. 2 of them were scratched. One car had a damaged hood like someone dragged a snow shovel across it. One had the front bumper nicked pretty good. We took the one I inspected / cleanest, which happened to be the one we put a deposit on. I didn't want to break in a new motor & tranny on the highway but we raced home 1400 miles out running a snow storm last week that hit the northeast. It was like a freaking cannon ball run buying the car in the morning, then getting far enough towards home with rain turning to ice & snow, 3 hours behind me!!!

Needless to say we love this car. It's beautiful to look at. We love driving it.
I pulled the fuse. Sounds great!!!. I lurked for a little bit before buying the spring edition. Forgot how much I love driving a hot rod! Looking forward to being part of the community here!

CONGRATS on the ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wive's, husbands, girlfirends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!
